Experience of a lifetime - I did the 7 day Lemosho with Uprise Africa on 17 August 2025. I booked in advance. Gudluck, the manager, took the time to answer all my questions through email. What I really appreciated.
I did the trip solo, so I joined a group.
The evening before I met him and the guide for briefing. They informed me what to expect and reassured me.
The team was great during the trip. They were kind, helpful, attentive and supportive.
The guides Kissima and Viviano helped us successful reach the summit. They were very professional. During the walk we also talked and laughed a lot, this made the hike easier. They do their best to make it comfortable for you. Every evening we had a briefing where they informed us about the next day and recommended what to wear and what to bring. Also they did a health check.
The food was great. I have Celiac disease and they did great. I informed Gudluck before the trip about it. Peter, the chef, surprised us everyday with the dishes. Mostly everything was gluten free. If not then he made two meals one with gluten and the other without.
The trip itself was incredible. The changing landscapes, from forest with animals to snow and gletsjer. Reaching the summit with the sunset was amazing.
Uprise made this trip unforgettable. I will never forget this. Thank you Uprise Africa. Thank you team for making this dream come true.

Uprise..the best for Kili and Safari - For the benefit of those like me who are looking for advice and feedback I share my personal experience after climbing the Kibo on 13/08 or a few days ago.
At the suggestion of a friend and companion to climb the Alps I made direct contact with a local agency based in Moshi. I didn't miss an Italian intermediary in the least, I actually saved a lot.
For the flight I booked at least 6 months in advance and I opted for Qatar Airways (great compromise between Cost and Service) two stops and a lower cost than KLM and AF. Ethiopian also lived but I suggest the Qataris.
The agency I have relied on is Uprise Africa Tours.
I highly recommend it!
I made my own Machame in 6 days
They followed me from arrival at the airport to return to the hotel of their choice.
A dedicated team of 4 porters, a cook, and one of the most experienced Kili guides..” Ali Baba”....what about .... everything perfect!
Thanks to their support I was able to get on and off safely...
The Machame is tough but worth it given the beauty of the landscapes and the chance to acclimatize climbing...
Sleeping in a tent with more flavor is more adventure..
For any questions write me or contact Gudluck Michael via whatsapp..he will always give you constant support.
I paid a deposit and then settled in US$ on arrival.
Last tip if you have time do as I do ... after the climb to Kibo private the experience of three days of Safari ... incredible and wonderful
I always asked Uprise and they organized everything for me with jeep, expert guide and cook, sleeping in the tented camps... it's really worth it
Tanzania is a great country and the people of Tanzania are really strong, tenacious and genuine...great people.

Amazing company - My friend and I, two girls, chose to hike Mount Kilimanjaro with Uprise Africa via the 8-day Lemosho route, and it turned out to be one of the most incredible experiences of our lives. From start to finish, the team was beyond kind, attentive, and supportive.
We were amazed by how well taken care of we were throughout the trek. The food was plentiful and delicious , we didn’t even need the snacks we had brought! The team made sure to tailor meals to our preferences, which made a big difference day after day.
We often joked that we were treated like royalty, but honestly, it felt true. Anytime we showed signs of fatigue, they would immediately offer to carry our backpacks, always encouraging and uplifting us.
Summit night was especially unforgettable. They did everything possible to make sure we both reached the top, including bringing a thermos of hot tea to keep us warm through the freezing night. That small gesture made a huge difference, and it’s something I’ll always be grateful for.
If you’re thinking of climbing Kilimanjaro, I can’t recommend Uprise Africa enough.

I highly recommend Uprise Africa! - I highly recommend Uprise Africa!
I went on a 7-day Kilimanjaro trek, and the entire experience was outstanding. From start to finish, everything was professionally organized and well taken care of. Airport pick-up and drop-off were included, and high-quality gear was available for rent, making the trip even more convenient.
The team—Odinga, Shabani, Amani, Samueli, Nzulo, Idi, and Hermani—was absolutely amazing. They were incredibly kind, supportive, and attentive, always ensuring I was in the best condition to continue the climb. Thanks to their dedication and encouragement, I was able to reach the summit.
I’m truly grateful for choosing Uprise Africa. If you’re looking for a well-organized, personal, and unforgettable Kilimanjaro experience, I highly recommend them!

Professional and nice - Searching for a local company specialized in Kilimanjaro's ascents, I choosed Uprise Africa Tour only following the good vibrations reminded me by the company's website and their fb page and what i found on internet about thrm. Also I appreciated the Goodluck's (the boss of the company) fastness in answering to my requests on whatsapp about what was required, invoices, timeline, ecc... It was enough to convince me to book with Uprise also the Tarangire and Ngorongoro two days safaris, to do after the Kilimanjaro. My feelings was totally confirmed when, arrived in Moshi, everything was respected about the appointments (a driver was sent to pick me up to the airport, and for Goodluck was enough to see my message with flight's number and timeline to answer me back "hakuna matata" and plan the transfer; the transfer can be done from/to Arusha or Kilimangiaro airports, both of them) and payement. I forgot to write I was trawelling totally alone, but the "day one" of the Kilimanjaro's trekking (i ve choosen the Lemosho Route, due to the suggestions of Goodluck, because I wanted more time to acclimatize myself), "my" crew came very very on time to take me at the Hotel (accommodation was also organized by the UpriseAfricaTour in a local hotel where you can encounter a lot of hikers from everywhere in the world going to/coming back from the Mount in the real spirit of the place) and they treated me, from the begenning, in a right way and I got an impression of professionality immidiately; after to be passed to get sleeping bag ( i prefered to rent it in Moshi and the company will send you a list with price and all stuffes you can rent, by the way I was really surprised you can rent everything you had to need, also mountainsboot or down jacket, if you decided to do kilimanjaro unexpectedely) and the oxygen tank (just in case), the 7 days of the Lemosho Route were really amazing; you are in the higest mountain in Africa, sourranding in the first days by an incredible and exotic environment and the last day of the big and beautiful glacier, and these conditions would be enough to be happy, but, much more than this, my guide (Aly) and crew (Franco, Frankie, Peter, David and Kelvin) took care of me in every single moment and for every aspect of the trekking: thanks to Aly for good acclimatization and to set the step in the best way for me and, so, to reach the camps everyday and the summit in a reasonable time and to have time to restore myself and keep the energies, really I did it without any out of breath (i suffered more, sometime, in italian alps, really...) or some problem else (excepted for a stomach problem the day before the ascent, who scared me but that was quicly and succesfully overcome with the Aly's cares and suggestions!) of course in the name of the mantra "eat, drink, rest" of Aly, to prepare yourself to the ascent to the top; also we did two "training" ascents to 4600 mt. and straightly we descented to sleep at 4000 mt in the recognized way to help your body to resist to highness. Aly is a very skilled and experienced guide and he was ever friendly and funny, even if I was alone the speaking went on all path long and also we laughed a lot. What about the rest of the crew? Very very professional and nice people, thanks to the porters wich did a real whorthy of respect job, they set up and down the tents and the camp ever very quickly, and to the cook, because of the very large and delightful portions of food (they feeded me like a baby), he also pancaked delightfully me every day when he found out i am a lover one. And to Franco, who helped and cuddle me in every little thing was possible! Never before and never after a "mountain kindness treatement" like this in a lifetime, saddenly I suppose!! In the next two days I stayed in Moshi, they accompained me to see Materuni Falls, Coffee plantation and Hotspring everything was ok, also for the safaris, i spent there two days and i sleept in a good tented camp.
Don't hexitate to book with Uprise!

My Kilimanjaro Adventure with Uprise Africa Explorer - I chose Uprise Africa Explorer for my Kilimanjaro climb via the Lemosho route due to its stellar reputation on Tripadvisor and its status as a locally operated company. Despite initially planning to climb with another couple who had to postpone, I embarked on this adventure solo, a twist of fate that turned out to be quite rewarding.
Gudluck, the owner, and my guide met with me a day before our journey, conducting a thorough briefing in a professional manner, outlining the rules and setting expectations. The following day, they arrived punctually, kicking off our adventure seamlessly. The team consisted of eight members to one, including the guide, chef, waiter, toilet attendant, and four porters, all of whom worked tirelessly to ensure my climb was comfortable and manageable.
Their dedication and professionalism were evident as they efficiently carried out their assigned tasks, providing excellent service throughout. Despite a slight bout of altitude sickness, the team's meticulous planning and care ensured I had ample time to acclimatize, culminating in a successful summit of Kilimanjaro, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
I wholeheartedly endorse Uprise Africa Explorer for anyone seeking a reputable, honest, and professional local company that prioritizes safety and well-being from start to finish.

11/10 Recommended! One team, one Dream. Hakuna Matata - Last month, we had an unforgettable ascent of Mt. Kilimanjaro, made even more remarkable by the incredible team from Uprise Africa Tours that accompanied us on this challenging journey. There were four of us in our group, and though we are not strong hikers, we all made it to the top!
Gudluck, the owner, is very professional and responsive to all our queries. He personally picked us up from the airport and even drove us to have our first meal in the continent of Africa. The Beef BBQ was 10/10 delicious.
Our chef, Alan, deserves special commendation for turning every meal into a delightful surprise amidst the mountainous terrain. These wonderful meals are our fuel to take on the day-to-day challenge. Herman, our caring little brother, sets up our table, prepares our coffee and tea, and even takes care of our water bottles every morning, along with our hot water bottles at night so we can have our much needed rest. The porters, with their unwavering strength and dedication, ensured our comfort and well-being, carrying not just our gear but also our spirits. They did their best to make sure our gears are safe amidst the unforgiving weather.
Our summit porters, Franco, Mumoya, and Lazarus, sang to us on our way to the roof of Africa. That kind of energy is needed for the summit night.
And of course, our guides, Kissima and Baraka (Mota), are beacons of positivity. Their happy spirits are infectious and motivating, leading us through each step with expertise and genuine enthusiasm. Their patience was truly commendable, especially during moments of fatigue or when adjusting to the altitude. They lead us safely to the summit. They knew Kilimanjaro so well—the terrain, the flora and fauna, and the wildlife.
Every member of the team played an integral role in making this climb a success, and their collective effort created an atmosphere of camaraderie that added value to the overall experience. Hiking Kilimanjaro was not just a physical accomplishment; it was a journey enriched by the warmth, skill, and kindness of an exceptional team.
I highly and wholeheartedly recommend Uprise Africa Tours for your conquest of Kilimanjaro and trust Gudluck that he will have the right people to go with you on your journey.

Amazing experience, great guidance, cultural experience - We (2 people in our twenties from the Netherlands) just finished our Kilimanjaro climb 2 days ago with Uprise African Explorer and it was such an amazing experience. I got in contact with Micheal Gudluck via friends and contacting him from home went very smoothly. We could customize the climb to our wishes within a reasonable price.
They are very keen on checking if you have the right gear, and if not provide options to rent these for fair prices.
We did the Lemosho route with the guides Sanga and Mota, both very experienced and chatty guys. They help you get through the challenging parts, but also explain a lot about the changing surroundings.
Big shout out to all the porters as well and to our amazing cook Emmanuel (who kept in mind our diet wishes and physical wellbeing) and Herman (who helped us with everything and taught us Swahili).
The climb is really worth it and Uprise made sure to give us the full experience.
