Pico Bistro Tamarindo

Please find your way to Pico Bistro. You can park in the parking lot adjacent if necessary. Next to Pico and in front of the parking, you will see the lifeguard tower. We are the surf school to the left of the lifeguard tower (if you are facing the water).

Excellent and fun first... - Excellent and fun first surfing experience for 5 kids (ages 8-14) and 2 adults. Gave great directions to meet the instructors. The set up was a little underwhelming when we first arrived, but the instructors were patient, kind, encouraging and gave great instruction. All 7 of us were able to get up on the boards and surf. Overall a fun and memorable day for all of us!

Great Family Fun Surf Lessons - Edwing taught our 3 teenage girls and their old parents to surf. He was very patient and kept everyone safe. All 3 of the girls were up within the first few tries, I can’t say the same for us old folks but it was fun to learn together and try. Also very reasonably priced compared to other outfits in Tamarindo!! Ask for Edwing he was awesome!

Wonderful group of teachers - Had a lesson for myself and my 10 year old with Johnny and Gustavo the first day. They were very attentive and helpful. We both learned a lot quickly, rode lots of waves and had a lot of fun. We returned the next day for a lesson for my other son and Johnny taught him as well. Excellent experience. Money well spent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for lessons. Pura Vida !

Great class & 1 on 1 instruction! - Edwar was a fantastic instructor! Super nice, great explanations in English or Spanish and very helpful with my first time surfing. Very laid back and I was able to stand and catch several waves. Advice for first time & sensitive skin - wear longer bottoms to protect your legs from chafing on the board if you can, so you can get the most out of the class. Thank you!!

Edwin is the best surf instructor! :) - I never have surfed in my life, but with Edwin as my instructor I learned so much! I caught so many waves! He has a great attention to detail and thoroughly explains the correct body positions. He has a wealth of knowledge so ask lots of questions! We had so much fun surfing with Edwin and can’t recommend his lesson enough.

Best activity in Tamarindo - We had an excellent time out there with Edwin. He was knowledgeable, supportive, and fun to hang out with. If you’re holding off because it’s embarrassing to be an adult that sucks so bad at something, forget all that and go. They’ll get you up a few times, you’ll fall a bunch, and you’ll have a blast just hanging out in the water with your friends and Edwin. The smoothie at the end was a lifesaver, totally forgot about that.

Wonderful experience for whole family - Johnny, Snyder, Danny were INCREDIBLE. They taught 12 year old daughter brand new moves on the board, and 8 year old daughter had a very positive first actual surfing experience (after not having a great experience in Hawaii.) Book with this company- you will not regret it.

Kenny is the best! - Kenny did a wonderful job with our two boys- 15 and 9. They both had a few good waves and were wiped by the end of the lesson. But he was patient and very attentive.
