Pure relaxation in beautiful nature - Beautiful drive through the mangrove forests of the estuary. David, our guide, was able to show us many animals we would never have discovered. Crocodiles, iguanas, monkeys and many different bird species. The relaxed cruise on the ship under David's direction is something of the best of our Costa Rica trip so far

The perfect way to spend your afternoon in paradise!! - A wonderful experience. Our guide was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about the mangrove and it's wildlife. We saw crocodiles, howler monkeys with a baby, blue heron, iguana, flat-billed heron, yellow crowned night heron, sandpipers and raccoons. A beautiful day!!

Nice mangrove tour but better ones elsewhere in Costa Rica - This was a nice trip up the river I to the mangroves. We saw howler monkeys, various birds, mostly various herons and kingfisher, raccoons, and crocodiles. If in Tamarindo, it is a fairly inexpensive option for an excursion. But, Palo Verde has a much better river tour with lots more crocodiles and lots more birds. This is a reasonable distance from Tamarindo. And if you're really into monkeys, check out the monkey mangrove tour south of Jaco where white faced monkeys are everywhere and there's a chance of seeing a sloth. This is too far from Tamarindo...it would need to be a separate trip or 2nd leg of a trip.

Almost no wildlife viewing - Not nearly as much wildlife as promised, saw only the tail of a crocodile deep in the mangroves and 2 monkeys very far away in our 3 hour trip
