Great tour! - Jose was an amazing guide on this private tour, which he customized to where/when we wanted to do things! He had a lot of pride sharing details about his beautiful country. SUV felt luxurious, plenty of water and beer if you wanted. Would highly recommend!

Family Day Out - The tour guide and the driver were wonderful, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and respectful. The tours including the blue waterfall, sloth, coffee, and cocoa were very educational for us, especially our elementary kiddos. We enjoy our time with this team.
Would high recommend them.

Incredible Adventure!!, - This was an adventure of a lifetime! Our tour guide Jose M. Was incredibly knowledgeable about the plants, animals, geography, and history of Costa Rica. We saw rare birds, a red-eyed tree frog, poison dart frog, an eyelash viper, many sloths and howler monkeys. A highlight was a young three toed sloth that was at eye level. We could have picked it up! The lunch was delicious and Jose’s expertise really added to the experience, Highly recommend!,

Incredible experience! - This was a truly amazing experience. First of all, HUGE thank you to Alex. Such an amazing tour guide and just a wealth of knowledge. We feel very lucky to get to know him. The waterfall hike is pretty easy with a couple of hills. The stairs to go down to the waterfall are steep and long. But, there is a landing about half way down with a great view of the waterfall. Alex found a pit viper to show us right now to the trail. And he also explained how different plants were used in traditional medicine. Then, on to the sloth sanctuary where we were greeted by monkeys and a beautiful toucan. We also saw four sloths high in the trees, some beautiful flowers, incredible frogs, and another type of pit viper. From there we had lunch which was incredible. After lunch it was on to the coffee plantation where we had an amazing tour and explanation of how coffee, cocoa, and sugarcane is grown, harvested, and processed. They also showed us the traditional Costa Rican way of preparing coffee as well as chocolate milk with raw (roasted) cocoa.
Note this is a private tour! We didn’t realize that. But it was just me, my wife, and Alex. Truly a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives.

Wonderful tour! Great for moderate hikers out there! - Wonderful tour! Make sure you read the details because it says what it means! The hike is a moderate hike to see the waterfalls. If you struggle with hills and stairs this may not be your tour. We have seen people with hiking sticks. If you struggle with balance, it may be a good idea to bring hiking sticks especially when it rains and the rocks can get slippery. Our tour guide Daniel was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history, nature, plants and animals. The second hike through the nature sanctuary for the sloths is an easy hike. So many wonderful animals to see. The coffee and chocolate experience was educational and delicious. Bring a change of clothes, a raincoat and bug spray. If you forget- no worries, they have places that sell ponchos and such. You will get rained on since it is the rainforest- even though we are in dry season.

Great day trip, 100% worth it - I went on the waterfall hike, sloth sanctuary, and coffee and chocolate tour with my mom and friend and had a wonderful day! Esteban was our guide and he was so kind, delightful, and knowledgeable about the area. He was early for the pick up and even allowed us to stop on the way back to get a few things from the store. It was really interesting to hear about (and see!) all the different creatures of the rainforest. The lunch was FANTASTIC (chicken is the one pictured). Definitely one of the best meals on our trip. You will not regret booking this experience. I definitely recommend bringing a rain jacket if you have one (obviously as you will be hiking in the rain forest) but if you do not, they do sell plastic ponchos in the parking lot for about $2 each.

Excellent well rounded day trip to the rain forests of Costa Rica - This was a fantastic day trip from Tamarindo. We didn’t have a car, but they picked us up even though we weren’t staying on the main strip. This covered all the things we hoped to see in the rain forest. The guides were excellent at helping us spot animals on each of the tours. They weren’t too strenuous of hikes, and we went to the national park first to miss the crowds. Esteban was excellent. He helped us with all our questions and knew great recommendations for the area. He was so friendly and helped us place our coffee orders in the areas where others didn’t speak as much English. He even waited for us to hit the grocery store after our bathroom break on the way home so we could pick up dinner for the evening. Fantastic guide and fantastic day. Can’t recommend enough. Bring a rain coat! There were ponchos for sale at the national park, but they don’t call it the rain forest for nothing.

Book this tour! - Estoban is the best!
The line down to the waterfall viewing platform was bananas, but Estoban was an expert at navigating the gaggle of people. Be warned, the hike into Rio Celesete is intense. You will feel this hike for days after - it's not for beginners or anyone with mobility issues. Also, go as early in the day as possible- our tickets were for 11am and we thought the park was crowded. However, when we left around 12:30, the entrance was a madhouse, people lined up for quite a ways for the afternoon timeslots. Despite the crowds, Estoban served as our photographer and we got some amazing pictures.
The visit as Paradise Springs was my favorite part of this activity. We saw sloths, frogs and eyelash vipers. The local guide and Estoban were experts at taking pictures with our iphones and we scored some amazing sights. The coffee and chocolate demonstration were informative and a good way to end the activity. I learned a lot about coffee and cacao!
There are some many good things I could say about this activity and would highly reccomend to anyone looking for some exploring when they are visiting Costa Rica.
