Good Tour - The best part of the tour was the floating market by the time we got to the temples, I was hot and tired. The guide was very knowledgeable. I would recommend taking the tour.

Our tour guide, Bobo, was... - Our tour guide, Bobo, was fantastic. I learned about the history of Thailand and he kept the tour running smoothly. Our bus driver also did a great job getting us to all of our points safely. I enjoyed seeing all of the sights and learning about this fantastic country.

Tour Guide - Great tour with William! He knows his history and also knows how to entertain the group. He sang for us at some point during our long drive to Ayutthaya. The train market, the floating market and Ayutthaya were all great destinations. We had a great time!

WOW! A great way to set the tone for our trip! - WOW! This full-day tour absolutely set the tone for our trip in the best way. The company is well organized, the guides are knowledgeable, efficient, and welcoming, and the aspects of this tour are wonderful. Our guide (William) gave us history of each space, helped us be conscious and respectful of local customs, made sure we were where we needed to be and when to get the best views possible (like a prime sport at train market JUST before the train came), and gave us the perfect amount of time in each space. We were wondering what it would be like to be on a group tour, and it was really the perfect size. We met some really friendly folks from all over the world on this tour and still felt it was small enough to ask questions to our guide at any time. We learned so much! Also the included buffet lunch by the river is so delicious! Lastly, the meet up and drop off locations were easily accessible by public transport (subway and sky train), even for our very first time in Bangkok!

This was a great tour! We... - This was a great tour! We saw a great mix of sights, and it felt like we spent just enough time at each location. The lunch provided was great and there were plenty of food options. Our guide William was wonderful; he was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English (he was also funny). I also appreciated that there were frequent opportunities to use the bathroom throughout the long day. The bus also had good air conditioning.

Wouldn't choose this trip again - We chose this trip because of the limited amount of time and the opportunity to visit both Ayutthaya and a floating market. Although it is a 12 h day trip, we actually didn't see that much because of the long distances and travel time between visiting sites, with 170 km between the floating market and Ayutthaya.
The train/ umbrella market is nice and has really good prices for souvenirs, but the floating market is really touristy, I'm not sure if there would be a market day if it would make any difference. If you've taken any other boat trip in any Asian countries, it's the same, not worth the hype at all.
Also, our tour guide didn't provide interesting historical information about Ayutthaya, the information was bland and limited to some architectural topics and limited religious facts. Moreover, when asked questions he was snarky and unaccommodating, not a very good attitude for a guide.
I think that a half-day tour from Bangkok to Ayutthaya would have been more than enough and a lot less tiring.
