The workshop was great! - Place: A workshop-museum with a rich history. They not only make traditional Japanese drums but also create stunningly beautiful mikoshi for matsuri and other temple items. Guide: We had an amazing guide, Kaz, who told us about the history of the workshop, shared a bit about the history of Asakusa, and helped us throughout the workshop. Instructor: Also named Kaz, he is a virtuoso drummer. I’m really not good at music, but under his guidance, even I was able to play along with the whole group.

Traditional Taiko Experience with a Professional - This tour is definitely worth the experience! It's a mix of Japanese culture and tradition with great vibes. Very fun and an easy workout. It was an honor to be able to play their drums. There are also different types of drums/taikos to look at and the shop is very interesting! The store has over 160 years of history and has ties to many of Tokyo's traditional performances and events. Would definitely recommend this tour to friends!

Soooo fun!! - Yoshiko san is very helpful and knowledgeable, her English is very loud and clear. She’s very pleasant. The teacher Rio looks young but she’ve learned taiko for 18 years. She’s a wonderful teacher! Rio san also explained the history of Taiko and perform for us. We enjoyed playing taiko a lot. Definitely, it’s a MUST try tour👍👍👍

Great fun! - It was a great fun! Learned a lot about taiko, watched taiko master RIo’s mesmerizing improvised performance, and played taiko with Rio’s easy to follow instructions! Playing together with other guests was joyful too! Our guide Miky was always smiling and friendly, and she spoke excellent, fluent English.

A fun, cultural activity that’s indoor!!! - I wasn’t really sure what to expect as I joined on a whim and was going solo but it turned out to be SO MUCH FUN! Our guide, Yoshimi, greeted us at the meetup point and we walked the short distance to the drum workshop. We learned a bit about the history of the Taiko drums, took photos of the beautifully crafted drums on display and had our own mini-concert after learning a song. The workshop is in Japanese but the guide doubled as an English translator. The other staff members were super nice and took photos and videos for any participant who wanted to capture the experience and provided chairs so we could sit and listen to the the instructor during the history portion. Small note the drum space and is on the second floor - there isn’t an elevator that I could see but the stairs are wide with railings. It’s definitely worth try of you’re in the area.
