Established in 1936, we have been providing traditional crafts for more than 80 years. Calligraphy and painting with brush and ink offer a distinctively Japanese experience. Kakejiku represent over 1000 years of techniques honed for beauty and preservation, resulting in a masterpiece of wabi-sabi just for you.
Choose from four course options:
・Calligraphy and Backing Only (no tapestry or hanging scroll included).
・Calligraphy, Backing, and Simple Traditional Tapestry.
・Calligraphy, Backing, and Kakejiku (Hanging Scroll with Magnetic Attachment).
You can take home the item you created on the same day. *
- If you wish to upgrade your artwork into an Authentic Kakejiku (Hanging Scroll), it will take approximately two months for professional finishing and shipping. (Details on additional costs for finishing and shipping will be provided on the day of the workshop.)

Participants will not only practice calligraphy but also learn to create a traditional Kakejiku (hanging scroll). With an hour dedicated to calligraphy practice, even newcomers will gain the confidence to write beautifully.
On-site, participants can transform their selected calligraphy piece into a kakejiku, choosing the best from their practice to become their final masterpiece. Unlike standard calligraphy sessions that use pre-made paper or scrolls, this experience is led by a skilled successor of a kakejiku studio with over a century of history.
