Ngutuni Wildlife Conservancy - Day 1: Journey from Mombasa to Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary.
Guests are collected from their coastal beach resort early in the morning for a scenic 3-hour drive to Ngutuni. The route winds through picturesque and remote rural villages. Upon arrival, guests enter the park and immediately set off on a game drive, seeking out the diverse wildlife that roams freely in this expansive reserve. Witness the unique “red elephants,” so named due to their frequent mud baths in the red soil of the Tsavo ecosystem. Spot Buffalos, Eland, Giraffes, Zebras, and Gazelles. Arrive at Ngutuni Lodge in time for lunch and check-in. More animals can be observed at the lodge’s strategically placed waterhole as they come for a midday drink. At 4 pm, embark on an afternoon game drive, further exploring the sanctuary with hopes of encountering the infamous “man-eater” lions of Tsavo, and be on the lookout for other predators such as cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and the elusive wild dog. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. -
