Exploring The North with Aaron - This tour is well worth your time. Aaron was our guide, and he was phenomenal. He was flexible and accommodating for our group even before the tour started. He was great with the kids and full of fun energy throughout our day with him. The tour started in Jiufen because that’s where we were staying. Aaron showed us parts of the area we had not yet seen, and shared the rich history. We went to Shifen for our next stop. We got to paint and release a lantern at a shop with a 22 year old tortuous, share some delicious food, and explore the train tracks before going to see the waterfall. The walk for the waterfall had several stairs but even our 3 year old found it manageable. We ended the trip with the cat village. Both of my kids were so excited to hear the history of the village and to have the opportunity to see/pet several of the cats. The day was absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend choosing this tour to explore these areas. Experiencing these areas would not have been nearly as enjoyable without Aaron to help guide us.

Wonderful Day Trip - We truly enjoyed our experience on this tour, especially thanks to our wonderful guide Hicks. He took great care of us and made sure that we experienced everything there was to see. He even went out of his way to make sure that we saw the sunset views from Jiufen which was spectacular. He also showed us all the secret spots and was so kind to take photos for us too. I would highly recommend this great tour.

A wonderful day trip - We had an amazing time touring this beautiful area with our guide, Hicks. Each town we visited had its own unique charm and Hicks made sure we didn’t miss out on anything. He wanted to make sure we were able to see the sunset from a viewpoint in Jiufen and accommodated our schedule to make it happen. It was an excellent day trip.

A wonderful insider’s tour of several locations! - We had a truly great day today with our guide, Nicolas Ying. Not only did he show us these great places, he took us to private spots we wouldn’t have found on our own. We learned a great deal about Taiwan and felt like family by the end of the day! We packed a lot in, but never felt rushed.

Great Day Trip to Shifen Waterfall & Village, and Jiufen Village, in the steps of Spirited Away - Had a really great time on the tour of Jiufen, Shifen and the Houtong Cat Village. These sites have become very popular because they're featured in the film Spirited Away. Visiting in person exceeded expectations, especially since the weather was great and there weren't a lot of crowds on a weekday. Our tour guide was very capable and personable. He picked us up in his very nice, clear car and drove us to Shifen, explaining the history of the area, which was influneced by the mining of coal and gold during the period of the Japanese occupation. The Jiufen waterfall was stunning. Called the "Taiwanese Niagra" because its the largest waterfall in Taiwan, but also because of its width. Though much smaller than Niagra, it has it's own majesty. we walked the paths to see it from different viewpoints. Because it was a weekday, there were very few other visitors, and we stood for a long time in relative silence taking it in. In the town of Shifen, we had fun exploring the small streets, and then taking part in a "flying lantern" ceremony, in which we selected a paper lantern with the colored panels corresponding to the types of wishes we wanted to make (health, career, family etc). There was an extra fee for this but it was nominal. The Cat village was interesting, a clever way to care for feral cats and also create a tourist destination. it was a little campy, but the cats were approachable and quite pretty. the visit to Jiufen was another highlight. We had lunch at a restaurant recommended by our driver, at the very top of the steep mountside town. The restaurant was a historic wooden building, the former home of the Japanese head of the Gold Mines. it had a loverly terrace overlooking the ocean. The menu was Taiwanese food and our driver recommended unique and delicious dishes we hadn't had before. Highly recommend.

Fun Tour with Great Guide! - Bubble was a great and charismatic guide! He was very accommodating to what the group wanted to do and personalized the trip for us. This tour has a lot of driving between the spots. The van was very nice and clean with WiFi and water. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour and Bubble as a guide.

We enjoy this trip - Our tour guide Bubble was very friendly and attentive. He took care of the elderly and the children, helped us plan the best route for the day, and prepared the items we needed to cope with the unstable weather. He also helped us take the best view photos of each attraction. My family was very pleased with this trip.

Jiufen, enough, Nekomura, the best!! - Mr. Hayashi, a tour guide who speaks good Japanese, showed us around.
(I told them in advance that I would be happy if they could speak Japanese)
They asked us what we wanted to eat and where we wanted to see as much as possible, and we also had people stop by rice and fruit shops that we couldn’t afford on our own!
We went to Jiufen, enough, Cat Village, and all of them were lovely places!
I really enjoyed having so many photos taken♡
I really enjoyed talking to Hayashi, and we talked all the time in the car!
I didn't even know what a lantern meant, so I was happy to hear that!
I am very happy to ask for a private tour ♩
I hope to have a tour guide when I go to Taiwan again!
Thank you very much.
