Great whale-watching tour on zodiac - Excellent tour- We saw fin and minke whales, some up close! Tour guide was very informative, even knowing the whales by name. It was COLD and wet!

Amazing experience! - We booked the whale watching tour out of Tadoussac. I booked in advance and my email said to go to the office in town to pick up our tickets. We went there for 8:00 am when it said it would be open but it was closed. We went and got breakfast and came back and it was still closed. We headed down to the boat and asked there. The man told us there were two offices and we went to the wrong one but it was no problem. He checked my email and gave us a piece of paper to use as our ticket. There was lots of paid parking at the docks ($3.25 per hour) although the docks are within walking distance of the village if you’re staying there. We had some time to kill so we walked along a trail that looked out over the water. In a very short period of time we saw two minke whales just from shore. We had paid extra to be able to go on the upper deck and were the first to board the boat. There were some muskoka chairs at the top and then another higher spot that was for standing only. We had to go over to Baie St Catherine to pick up more passengers and in a short period of time we saw a few belugas and a couple more minkes. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of insight into what we were seeing. As we got further out, we were lucky enough to see a fin whale and a blue whale. We spent quite some time watching them. Although none of the whales jumped out of the water, we were still able to see their fins and bodies and hear them spouting out when they surfaced. It really was an incredible experience that we would highly recommend.

Exciting Whale watching trip - It was very cold during the boat ride but we were pre-warned to come prepared with layered clothing & coats. We saw beluga whales & babies in St. Lawrence River, prior to boarding the whale watching boats. It was as an exciting trip and we were able to spot a hump back whale and many dolphins on the at day. We took the three decker boat which gave us a was pretty smooth ride but per pax cost was not cheap.

A Boat Ride with maybe some Whales. - Whale watching is a hit or miss outing, nothing really guaranteed or the distance the sea mammals decide to approach. It’s mainly a boat ride looking for them. The boat is nice, good condition and operated professionally. A guide gives bilingual narrative. A glass-wall raised VIP area is available for those paying more. Dress warm!

Whales, dolphins and seals! - We did see whales, dolphins and seals, it was amazing! The only thing I would change about our excursion is the boat. Yes. There are washrooms, a snackbar and many levels but there were so many people on the boat that when there was a whale sighting, everyone moved to that side of the boat. If you're a short person, you'll have a lot of people in front of you so for that reason alone, I would return to Tadoussac but I would do a tour on the zodiac boat that doesn't hold hundreds of people. I want to see everything. Maybe spending a little more and buying the VIP package would have been a better experience on the bigger boat but I don't think that gave you a 360° view either. The zodiac boat won't be good if you have certain mobility issues but if you don't, it's cheaper and a lot less crowded.

Whales see off Tadoussac! - Trip was very nice - whales and dolphins seen. Ship neat and safe. Guide competent. Bus back badly organized.

Nice and expensive boat ride - Boat trip with the main objective of whale watching. We do not know whether to advise whether or not it is worth it, as the price is expensive and it is not assured to see the cetaceans. If you go on the larger boat you can see them from afar, as can the seals. The zodiac (which is a more expensive ride) allows a closer approach. The boat ride itself is beautiful. But we insist it's too expensive.

Made to feel unwelcome - We were met at the ticket station by an attendant who refused to help us redeem our reservation for our ticket as we did not speak french. She sent us with very vague directions to another kiosk, it took us quite awhile to find our way as the map she had given us she only put two indiscriminate circles on. We finally got it sorted after much question asking and frustration, only to be told we had to park our car a great distance from the dock, and where we had just come from. Then we were told there was a shuttle, but the shuttle left without us. My husband had to walk quickly a great distance back to the boat. The server on the boat was also short with us as english speakers, snapping more than once at us. This was all for extra money for the VIP service. It could have been a really nice experience with just a little more patience and kindness, but we leave feeling they

Disappointing - Disappointing boat trip....we saw a few of the belugas in the distance but they just looked like white dots on the river. We did see a Fin whale blow its spout but didn't really see the whale. We saw no other seals, dolphins, etc. Thankfully we paid extra for the upper deck which was not crowded. When going down to the lower deck, it was packed inside. The person talking spoke 75% in French and 25% in English. It was a lot of money for a cold boat ride.

You better save the money. An overpriced boat tour. - I can only join many. It was an overpriced boat trip, not anymore. After the tension was over, after you didn't get to see whales anyway, the guests shifted inside and there they continued to rub shoulders with overpriced food and drink, as well as China souvenirs. Save yourself the money and prefer to eat fine đŸ„‚
