- Magha’er Shuaib - Midian (Al Bad) is the land where Moses spent ten years in voluntary exile before returning to liberate his people from Pharaoh Ramses II. It is also the homeland of Jethro (Prophet Shuaib), Moses’ father-in-law. The Mugha’yer Shuaib emerges unexpectedly in the reddish desert west of Tabuk. Moses lived here for a decade under the guidance of Prophet Shuaib, who was impressed by Moses’ bravery and offered his daughter’s hand in marriage. Although Moses eventually returned to Egypt, this beautiful place likely remained in his memory.
