Explore Westerplatte and Polish Post Office
Gdansk’s history is indelibly intertwined with World War II. The largest military conflict in the world was initiated here on September 1, 1939 with the initial gunfire at the Westerplatte peninsula and at the Polish Post Office. The war ended for the city in March 1945 when it was nearly entirely demolished by the Red Army. As of the 1st of September 1939, the mass extermination of the Polish and Jewish residents began. The evidence of this can be found in mass graves in nearby forests and the first Nazi concentration camp in Stutthof.

Amazing - Excellent Matthew was amazing . He was very good explaining all the important events. From old town to Westerplatte. Very knowledgeable and kept the young adult and adults asking questions. It felt good to see the interaction and the learning that was taking place. I highly recommend this tour.

Great tour and passionated guide - May 2022 we had an excellent tour around the polish post office, Stutthof and westerplatte. Maciej had great knowledge about the WW2 but also the Polish- and political history but also culture. He is very passionated and dedicated in sharing his knowledge and even though it is a horrible and sad past, it really makes you reflect; the point is for us to learn about global altruism and not let the history repeat itself.
During the day we also had lunch with sea view and sun, where we got a traditional polish soup.
We enjoyed the whole day with a great spirit.

Great and kind Gdansk guide! - Starting May we booked this trip with Gdansk Trips / Maciej Snarski.
The tour was very inspiring, with a visit to the Gdansk Postoffice with one of the initial battles of WWII, and then a visit to the Stutthof concentration camp, learning about the horrors of this place. We then visited Westerplatte to learn about the important/symbolic battle here.
During the day, we had a fine, local lunch, broadening our local tasting.
Maciej (Mats) is kind and very good at explaining all details, and you can almost always expect a detailed response in case of any questions.
All in all a very inspiring day, even despite hangovers.

Excellent tour and tour guide. - We visited in December and had a tour with Maciej around the concentration camp, polish post office and westerplatte. Maciej had great knowledge and really took time with us explaining and sharing the history. We also had a lovely lunch which was of traditional polish food picked by Maciej. I would definitely recommend this tour. Due to the nature it’s not the easiest tour to do it’s very sad and really makes you think about the past but with an excellent tour guide was enjoyable and educational
