Syafru - Leave Kathmandu early in the morning for the 6 hours bus journey to the Langtang Valley Trek. Your guide will assist you to get the bus from Machhapokhari to Syabrubesi. Your drive begins at 7:00 AM.
You will enjoy the beautiful view of landscapes, villages and winding roads along with the massive Trishuli River. After your thrilling 6 hours bus ride you will reach Syabrubesi (1,500m).
Your first day is completed. You will have leisure time in which you can have a tour of Syabrubesi and enjoy time with villagers. Overnight at guesthouse
Syafru bensi - Prithvi Highway:
The route initially takes travelers along the Prithvi Highway, a major roadway that connects Kathmandu to other regions of the country. The highway winds through the lush Trishuli River valley, providing glimpses of terraced fields, traditional villages, and the distant Himalayan peaks.
Trishuli River:
As the drive progresses, the road follows the meandering course of the Trishuli River. The turquoise waters of the river, set against the backdrop of verdant hills, create a mesmerizing scene.
Mountainous Terrain:
Trekkers are treated to panoramic views of terraced hills, dense forests, and the towering peaks of the Langtang Himalayas in the distance.
Syabrubesi Arrival:
The drive culminates in Syabrubesi, a quaint village nestled along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. The village is surrounded by hills and provides a serene setting, marking the starting point of the Langtang Valley Trek.
Trek to Lama Hotel / Rimche (2500 meters) 5 hours.
Trek to Langtang Village / Mundu (3307 meters) 5 hours.
Langtang Valley - From lama hotel, we continue gently ascending above the Langtang Khola. As the trail progresses, it becomes steeper. From time and again we can have the most exotic sights of Langtang Lirung lying at 7246 meters.
The trail leads to a log bridge and on climbing further we come across lush meadows of Ghoda-tabela at 2992 meters. We will see several lodges and a police check post. Further on, the route opens up into a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages showcasing water-driven mills and prayer wheels.
On descending for a while, we arrive at Langtang village after crossing a stream and reaching to the height 3430 meters.
Langtang village is the headquarters for Langtang National Park and has flat-roofed Tibetan style houses, hotels and cultivated lands yielding buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips, barley etc. Overnight at guesthouse.
Langtang Valley - Enchanting Forests:
The trek meanders through enchanting rhododendron and bamboo forests, creating a magical atmosphere.
Wildlife Encounters:
As you ascend, keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the region. Langtang National Park is home to various species, including langur monkeys, Himalayan tahr, and the elusive red panda. Nature enthusiasts will find this stretch of the trek particularly rewarding.
Langtang River and Waterfalls:
The trail follows the Langtang River, and the sound of its rushing waters accompanies trekkers throughout the journey. The trail occasionally passes by beautiful waterfalls, adding a refreshing and scenic element to the trek.
Langtang Valley Entrance:
As you approach Langtang Valley, the landscape opens up to reveal wide, U-shaped valleys surrounded by majestic peaks. The first views of Langtang Lirung and other snow-capped summits are awe-inspiring, marking your arrival in the heart of the Langtang region.
Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3798 meters) 4 hours.
Kyanjin Gompa - The trail skirts gradually through rich yak pastures and interesting traditional villages of Mundu to Singdun. We cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine.
Finally, on ascending along the mountain passes we arrive at Kyagjin Gompa. There is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory. Overnight at guesthouse.
Kyanjin Gompa - Nestled within the spectacular Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gompa stands as a spiritual and scenic oasis for trekkers. Situated at an altitude of approximately 3,870 meters (12,697 feet), Kyanjin Gompa is a traditional Tibetan village adorned with a picturesque monastery. The serene ambiance is heightened by the surrounding snow-capped peaks, including Langtang Lirung and Yala Peak. A short trek from Kyanjin Gompa leads to the mesmerizing Kyanjin Ri glacial lake, reflecting the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas. Encircled by prayer flags and rugged mountain terrain, the lake offers a tranquil spot for trekkers to contemplate the grandeur of the natural landscape, creating a harmonious blend of cultural richness and breathtaking scenery.
Trek to Lama Hotel / Rimche (2500 meters) 6 hours.
Kyanjin Ri - Kyanjin Ri, a majestic viewpoint in the Langtang Valley, lures trekkers with its panoramic spectacle of the surrounding Himalayan grandeur. Perched at an elevation of approximately 4,773 meters (15,655 feet), the ascent to Kyanjin Ri rewards adventurers with breathtaking vistas of towering peaks, including Langtang Lirung, Langshisha Ri, and Dorje Lakpa. The trek to the summit, though challenging, is adorned with prayer flags, adding a spiritual dimension to the experience. As trekkers reach the pinnacle of Kyanjin Ri, the expansive views unfold, revealing a dramatic landscape of glaciers, snow-clad summits, and the pristine Langtang Valley below. Trek to Syabrubeshi (1462 meters) 4 hours.
Syafru - Today, we have two options. We can either retrace our same route or take a more interesting route via Rimche. On the way to Rimche, we visit the village of Sherpa Gaon for lunch and get to Syabrubesi by evening.
Or, we walk through oak and rhododendron forests before returning to Syabrubesi and saying goodbye to the Himalayan wilderness. Before our Langtang Trek route concludes, feel free to stroll around the local market. Overnight at guesthouse.
Syafru bensi - The descent from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi marks the concluding leg of the Langtang Valley Trek, offering trekkers a reflective journey through the diverse landscapes they’ve traversed. Starting from Lama Hotel, the trail retraces the steps through enchanting rhododendron and bamboo forests, with the sounds of the Langtang River accompanying the descent. As trekkers descend further, they pass by charming Tamang villages, providing a final opportunity for cultural exchanges with the friendly locals. The trail occasionally offers glimpses of cascading waterfalls, adding a refreshing touch to the trek. As the trek nears its end, Syabrubesi comes into view, welcoming trekkers with its serene ambiance and the comforting sound of the Bhote Koshi River. The journey from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi encapsulates the essence of the Langtang Valley Trek, offering a blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and a sense of accomplishment as the trek concludes in this picturesque mountain village.
Drive back to Kathmandu. Approx. 6 hours.
Kathmandu - Following your breakfast, early morning you can catch a coach and head back to Kathmandu. It takes you around 6 hours to reach Kathmandu.
In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances.
Trishuli - The bus drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu serves as the final leg of the Langtang Valley Trek, offering trekkers a return journey through the diverse landscapes of Nepal. Departing from Syabrubesi, the bus traverses the winding mountain roads, providing passengers with panoramic views of terraced hills, traditional villages, and the distant Himalayan peaks. The journey retraces the path taken at the beginning of the trek, allowing trekkers to reflect on the challenging yet rewarding adventure in the Langtang region. As the bus descends from the higher altitudes, the lush greenery and vibrant landscapes provide a stark contrast to the alpine terrain experienced during the trek. The drive concludes in Kathmandu, completing the circular route and offering trekkers a full-circle perspective of the remarkable natural and cultural diversity that defines the Langtang Valley experience.
