• Mondesa - Offers a well-organized tour with local guide Nande Junias, showcasing the history of the Mondesa Township. Established in the early 1950s to provide housing for black workers in Swakopmund, the tour is a living history experience, transitioning from the Owambo areas to those of the Damara and Herero. At each stop, guests will enjoy a mix of culture, history, and plenty of laughter. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about traditional attire, witness a mahango preparation demonstration, taste traditional Oshiwambo food and drink, visit the DRC kindergarten, and enjoy children’s dancing. • Dune 7 - Arrive at Dune 7 (entry fee not included) after about 20 minutes and enjoy some free time to climb the sand and take photos. Return towards town and visit the Walvis Bay Salt Refinery. This refinery produces an impressive 750,000 tons of salt annually, much of which is exported globally. It spans 4,500 hectares and is currently expanding. Witness massive salt piles resembling snow and bright pink water basins.

Begin your day-long journey from Walvis Bay to witness a fossil. You’ll embark on a 4.5-hour trip through the desolate Erongo region, lunch and transfers included. The tour includes sights such as Dune 7, Welwitschia Mirabilis, and the age-old geology that formed the Lunar landscape. Witness countless flamingos in their natural surroundings, admire the massive, moon-like scenery, check out the historical town of Swakopmund, and benefit from the convenience of pickup and drop-off at Walvis Bay Port. You’ll be welcomed at your cruise ship in the Walvis Bay port. Post a brief orientation, you will be taken to a lagoon to gaze at the stunning flamingos. Following this, an opportunity to ascend Dune 7, which, at 132 meters (433 feet), is the tallest dune nearby. You can enjoy a refreshing drink of water before proceeding to discover the Welwitschia Mirabilis plant, an endemic living fossil. A meal will follow, and then you’ll visit the old German town of Swakopmund. Explore the town at your own pace, perhaps doing a bit of shopping. Lastly, take the coastal road to return to your cruise ship.
