• Reykjadalur - The hiking adventure kicks off with a gathering in front of Reykjadalur Café, where participants will receive a headlamp and prepare to embark on the hike together. Please be aware that if arriving independently, parking at the meeting location requires a ticket, costing approximately €5 per vehicle.
• Reykjadalur Hot Springs - The destination is a naturally heated river nestled within the hills, offering warm waters under a starlit sky. During the Northern Lights season, this secluded valley transforms into a natural stage for one of Earth’s most spectacular displays. Away from city lights, the sky above Reykjadalur provides ideal conditions for viewing the aurora. Imagine soaking in the warm, mineral-rich waters of the hot river, with steam rising into the air, as waves of green, pink, and violet light dance above. It’s a magical moment—a sensory experience that perfectly blends warmth, silence, and awe.
  Even when the auroras are not visible, the night sky here presents its own spectacle. On a clear night, constellations shine brightly above, free from urban light pollution. • Reykjadalur Gonguleio - This captivating journey begins in the delightful town of Hveragerði, where participants will be equipped with a headlamp and guided along a scenic trail into the darkness. The hike takes about one hour, gradually leading through stunning terrain as daylight fades. Shadows deepen, the air cools, and the valley adopts a serene, almost mystical quality.
  Reykjadalur—meaning “Steam Valley”—is vibrant with geothermal energy. Bubbling hot springs, steaming vents, and earthy scents line the path, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that feels otherworldly in the night’s stillness. As participants walk through this surreal landscape, they will witness nature’s quiet power, surrounded by native plants and nocturnal wildlife in this unique ecosystem.

Located just a 40-minute drive from the center of Reykjavik, this adventure covers a distance of 6 km (3.7 miles) with an elevation gain of 330 m (1090 ft). The trail is easy, taking approximately 4 hours to complete, and is suitable for those aged 8 and above.
