Must Do Activity - If I could rate this a 100/5 stars I would. This is a once in a lifetime experience. The lava tunnel team created an atmosphere that was educational while also adventurous. The snorkeling was so unique! My husband and I were nervous about the cold at first but if you listen to the instructors it’s really only your hands and face getting wet. The team breaks you into such small groups you feel like you’re getting a very personal experience with a professional team. I am so glad we booked this tour! It’s something we will always share as a must do activity with future travelers.

Black and Blue Arctic Adventure! - The Arctic Adventures Black and Blue tour. The Lava Tunnel experience was excellent. Our guide was a very knowledgeable Greek chap named Dimitri who made the trip very entertaining. The tour provides crampons and a light/helmet for the walk into the history of a lava tunnel. Many photo opportunities and a fantastic time had by all. In the afternoon after a lunch break we transferred to the Silfra fissure for snorkelling. Theresa was an exceptional guide who kept us safe and entertained. The preparation is very thorough: personal base layer, warm body suit and a well fitted dry suit. Gloves, hat, mask, snorkel and flippers and we were ready to go after about 45 minutes. The water is so clear. The equipment kept us buoyant and warm. After initial instructions we drifted with the current through the fissure with amazing views below us. The team take photos for downloading later so you don’t need to take a camera if you don’t want to. After 30 minutes or so we were out of the water, heading back to get into warm clothes for hot chocolate and a snack. This is an unforgettable experience that we all enjoyed (13-51y!). Yes your face gets cold. Yes your lips feel a little swollen - but the water is 2-4 degrees C!! Excellent team providing an excellent experience. Thank you!!

Out of this world - What an amazing experience. Even though the weather was horrible it made for a perfect day to be in the lava cave and snorkel in the Silfra. Both our guides were very knowledgeable and helpful with gear. Both tours were so unique and out of this world. Don't worry about being too cold in the Silfra water. The gear keeps you very warm and the experience is unforgettable.

The Trips, The Guides! - Absolutely Superb. Before I write my review it's EXTREMELY important to remember where you are visiting if you are planning to visit Iceland. The weather WILL affect your trip in some fashion!! That is a certainty. Don't complain on tripadvisor if the weather interferes with your trip!! For instance, if you choose to SNORKLE in Arctic temperatures you are GOING TO GET COLD!!! If you travel in Iceland in winter expect to get cold and wet occasionally!!! Common sense really!!! Arctic Adventures displayed the type of professional yet fun service that many companies cannot manage to achieve. The company has put together tours that are entertaining, informational and absolutely great craic!! Our guides on our trips were simply fantastic. HILMAR took care of us on our trip to the Katla Ice Caves, his driving skill in the most challenging conditions cannot be understated. I drive in similar conditions myself and would like to say his driving was impressive!! He kept the whole group entertained and was an absolute gentleman. He made a long day on the bus in awful weather a huge amount of fun!! Thank you HILMAR, I hope you enjoy your salmon fishing this year!! Siggi was our guide the following day for our trip snorkeling to the Silfra Fissure. Siggi is a GEM!! His attention to us, care and consideration was beyond belief. He spent an age absolutely freezing himself, helping everyone else get dressed first. He went WAY above and beyond. That was not easy and his attitude never once changed. He was just fantastic!! It's so pleasing to see that the customer actually matter to this company and this shows via their guides. I am going to be returning to Iceland next year and will spend the full week with the company due to the service I received this time around. Thank you guys!!!

Enjoyed both activities but waiting at bakery for 2 hours wasn’t pleasant. - The lava tunnel was neat but different than I expected. Snorkeling was absolutely amazing! I loved that our guide Oliver took some photos during the adventure. I wish I would have booked them separately as waiting almost 2 hours at a bakery with no bathroom was not pleasant.

Great Experience and highly recommended! Some knowledge before to make it exceptional to what to take for prep - We started off the day by the lava tunnel - personally I found this to be a bit short in terms of experience but very interesting and excellent guide there. We then went to Silfra for the snorkelling - I must suggest anyone who goes during cold winter - please take your beanie and super warm gloves We were not told how long we would spend out preparing in dry and wet suit in the windy windy windy cold cold place and I was honestly in agony. Had they informed us to take beanie and gloves I would have been a lot more comfortable during the waiting time to go down (between prep and all) However I must praise Dimitri who took care of us - he made the experience super enjoyable and took some great photos! Apart from lack of beanie and gloves / place to keep warm during the 1hr+ prep time I highly recommend this experience

Do it! But not with arctic adventures! - The experiences themselves were 5 stars, 6 if possible. However, the organizing company - Arctic Adventures was extremely unprofessional, rude at times and put a damper on an otherwise great day. We didn't use their shuttle service as we have our van we are roadtripping with so when arriving at the cave (as requested 15 mins before start time) we were very much surprised to hear our "group" had actually arrived much earlier and had started the cave tour without us, we had to wait an hour to join the next tour. The cave was beautiful, guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and our time underground was a fantastic experience. After this we had to rush to the snorkeling site to be there at the appointed time only to discover that our reservation was changed without our knowledge to a later time. The snorkeling guide was not helpful and honestly quite rude about the situation. After some coaxing we managed to join our original snorkeling time with a rather dismissive unpleasant guide. The snorkeling itself was fantastic and we can not recommend it enough, definitely make sure you get a tour with pix cause it's worth it. BUT DO NOT BOOK WITH ARCTIC ADVENTURES!

Fun but confusing - The tours were each fun . But when booking they don’t tell you that your on 2 different tours and we didn’t have any idea about how we meet the second half of the tour . Not very clear on the itinerary
