The journey starts at Hotel Smyrlabjörg, located roughly midway between Jökulsárlón and Höfn. From there, a 20-minute 4x4 drive takes participants closer to the glacier, marking the beginning of the adventure!
The tour kicks off with an introduction to the equipment, kayaking techniques, and safety protocols before launching the kayaks to explore the iceberg-laden lake for 1.5 to 2 hours. Afterward, participants will land the kayaks and hike through a secluded landscape to a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the glacier. Following the hike, they will once again don drysuits and paddle a short distance before hiking back to the vehicle.
