Additional Information
After a hike through an alien-like glacial tundra, we will arrive at the edge of the glacier where your guide will assist you in putting your crampons on. We will explore ice caves where your photographer will capture you inside these natural wonders. Once through the lower cave, which is named Sapphire Ice Cave, we will gear up for our hike on the glacier. With crampons on, you will hike to many different formations on the glacier including our famous crystal crevasses. The visuals you will see all around you will create an unimaginable experience as your photographer captures you amongst it.
We are the only tour company in Iceland that offers photo packages along with the smallest group sizes of any glacier tour operator. Every glacier hike through Ice Pic Journeys includes photos from your tour. Each person will receive 10 professionally edited photographs sent via a Drive within the 14 days after your hike. These will include the iconic Blue Ice Cave photos.
- In order to operate this tour we need 2 passengers minimum.
- Photos are edited and sent approximately 14 days after your tour.
- The minimum age for this tour is 8 in the summer and 10 in the winter.

Express glacier hike - Christo (hope correct spelling as he is fm Poland) is our guide he is helpful and elaborate very well from safety to glacier formation movement and seasonality
It may not be nice on black color glacier but it is as it is since with volcano ash n layer like that but the feel n experience is the same
Able to see the blue ice too

Glacier walk and ice cave tour! - Absolutely awesome company! We did a glacier walk and ice cave package that came with 10 professional photos each. We went in late July and while the cave was melting, it was still gorgeous! We also were the ONLY two people who booked the tour for our date, so we had an incredible 1:1 time with our guide Zuzana, who was fantastic! We did the glacier walk first (with full crampons) to avoid other tour groups who arrived for the ice cave - we got to be flexible on where to walk around to, hooked into our harnesses to look down into holes on the glacier, and learned about how the features were formed. We then ended with the ice cave where we were the only 3 people there right up until we left, when other groups started to come again. Got our photos a week later which are quite better than the ones from my phone lol and couldn’t be happier with them! Cannot recommend this company more!

Great employee - We did not go with their tour this time. But I want to write a review about Ms. Zuzana. She found our rental car key nearby the glacier entrance and called the rental company. We were able to get the key back from her in Hofn the next day. Thank you so much Zuzana!

A great tour made better by our guide, Marcus - This tour was more expensive than most but promised more in terms of smaller groups, more personalized service and a better overall experience. They delivered on all of those points very well. Marcus, our guide for the tour, was enthusiastic, personable and knowledgeable on both the glacier and photography. He was determined to time our entrance to the ice cave so that we were the only group there and he succeeded. We had over an hour in the cave by ourselves, while other groups that were arriving as we were leaving seemed to be parading through in just a few minutes.

Beautiful, fun, professional tour - Our guide, Claudia, was patient, personable, informative, and fun! She took the time to make sure everyone had the right gear to keep us dry and warm and to educate us on how to use the technical equipment she provided. Claudia took time to take good photos of each individual and the 2 groups in our small tour, but she also gave us ample time to explore and enjoy the beautiful caves. We spent 2 weeks in Iceland, and this may have been my favorite activity. We had our 2 young teens with us and they loved it, too. Thank you, Ice Pic Journeys, for a great adventure!

Best tour in Iceland! - We had such an amazing time with Ice Pic! We went on the ice cave/glacier hike tour and it was fantastic. Our guide, Zuzane was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. You could tell she loved what she did and was always looking for new photo opportunities and ways to engage with us. She was also very safety focused and helped us with feel well taken care of. We haven't gotten our photos back yet (our tour was only a few days ago) but I’m sure they will be lovely! We will definitely be recommending Ice Pic to all of our friends.

Once in a Lifetime Experience - Great once in a lifetime experience! We did the 5 hour glacier hike/ice cave tour with Julian. The tour started late due to a flat tire and a tourist getting stuck blocking the road; Julian still made sure that we got as much time as we wanted on the glacier and was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable, made sure my kids were kept safe near crevasses etc.. and shared his experiences of how the caves and crevasses had changed over the last week.

The beauty of Ice in Iceland - We (family with 2 teenage kids) did an Icecave+Glacier tour with Dario in February.
Several questions were sent by email in advance.
Always answered quickly and comprehensively.
Dario was enthusiastic, friendly and knows what he is talking about. You feel completely safe.
During the afternoon and afterwards a number of small things went wrong with our family, but we don't want to talk about this anymore. They resolved this so very well and professionally. Kudos for this!
The trip over the glacier and into the caves were really beautiful and special. We wouldn't have missed this trip for anything. And we can now enjoy the report through the photos.
