Highlights
  • Surabaya - You will pick up by our professional driver and tour guide from any hotel in Surabaya or Malang city around 11.45 pm, then continue travel to Mount Bromo area (Sukapura or Tosari). When arriving, you will transfer to 4WD Jeep then heading to Sunrise View Point, our tour guide will be with you.
  • Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - Penanjakan Viewpoint or King Kong Hill is the best viewpoint to witness the sunrise. The temperature is quite around 7-10 degrees Celcius If you want something to keep you warm you’ll find lots of street-side stalls along the way that sell noodles, corn on the cob, coffee, and tea (Include).

Penanjakan Hill and King Kong Hill are always crowded with tourists waiting to watch the sunrise. The crowds normally gather on the far left side of the viewpoint, which is where the sun rises. However, the best views of Mount Bromo (especially if you are a photographer) are actually from the far right-hand side of the viewpoint, which is almost always empty. Don’t worry your guide will lead your way. The best time to take photos of Mount Bromo is the first 15 minutes after sunrise while the mists hang low over the valley and clouds top the volcano.

Once you’ve watched the sunrise over Bromo you will return to the jeep then drive down to Bromo Crater. The driver will drop you off 2 kilometers away from the crater, locals on horseback will rush up to greet you as you get out of the jeep and offer you a horseback ride to the crater. It takes about 45-minutes on foot to cross the sea sand to reach the crater rim then takes a short 15-minute hike up the stairs to reach the rim of Bromo Crater. After climbing Mount Bromo, you will back to Tosari or Sukapura where your driver is waiting for you to back to your departure point (Malang or Surabaya). This tour ends around 11.30 am.

Just perfect - We had an amazing tour with Ifa to see the sunrise at the Bromo volcano. We were picked up on time at the hotel and headed to the parking area to switch to the Jeep. On the way, we had a great chat with Ifa and the driver. Ifa not only told us more about the tour and the surroundings but also shared some stories about herself. Just before reaching the viewpoint, we had a quick coffee break. The sunrise was crowded but spectacular—truly unforgettable! We could have watched it all day. After that, we hopped back into the Jeep and headed towards the crater. The climb up was challenging and very dusty, but thankfully Ifa had brought masks for us. After exploring the crater, we went for lunch at a place with a delicious buffet. Then, it was time to head back to the hotel. We had a fantastic time, and hats off to Ifa for guiding the tour. We absolutely loved it!

Experience of a lifetime with amazing guide! - This is a once in a lifetime experience to see the most incredible views of sunrise from the top of Mount Bromo. My guide Nadal made sure I got the best viewing spot, and despite there being a lot of people there, it felt unspoilt. Thanks Nadal for a really fun morning!

Sunset Tour - Nazifa is such a nice and intelligent tour guide. She took so much time and totally responded to our needs. The two drivers were also top! We did the sunset tour and were almost alone at each viewpoint. In the evening, there are hardly any tourists. We unfortunately did not see the sunset because of the clouds, but the play of light was still priceless!

Bromo is amazing thankfully the IDN crew saves the day and makes our trip - We had to book last minute with IDN because another company cancelled on us just 24 hours out. Thankfully IDN came to the rescue. Nadal our guide created a wonderful experience. His English was top notch and he showed us all of the best spots on the tour. The drivers also rocked, and for someone with motion sickness this is a huge plus, they drove smoothly when everyone else looked like they were playing bumper cars. You get what you pay for and this was worth every penny!

Must do in East Java - I did the tour with Nadal, and I had a great experience. I was able to get all the pictures I wanted and the full Bromo experience. When visiting East Java, Bromo is a must do activity, and Nadal does a great job. He was able to answer all my questions about Java/Indonesia and gave me more recommendations on what to do in Malang. One of the highlights of my Indonesia trip

Amazing Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I feel compelled to share my glowing review of the tour company and my guide, Nadal. Throughout the journey, Nadal seamlessly balanced guiding and photography assistance, showcasing his extensive knowledge of Mount Bromo and other Indonesian tourist hotspots. He ensured my comfort and safety at every turn, never failing to check in on my well-being. Both the drivers, to and from the hotel, as well as the 4x4 driver, were exceptionally amiable and accommodating, readily stopping for breaks whenever necessary. Additionally, the breakfast provided was in a nice place with amazing view. Overall, my experience was flawlessly executed, thanks to the professionalism and friendliness of Nadal and the entire tour team.

Driver service rather than a guided tour - This was a bit of a disappointment. The description is not super clear of the difference between the private and regular tour. We did the regular tour. The biggest thing was that it was not guided. There was only a driver that did not speak English. The pickup was on time though at 11:45. The car was quite old and quite uncomfortable at the back. The driver did the best he could but it was very shacky at the back and difficult to handle for 3hours. If you get sick in cars maybe find a more comfortable tour! It will be shaky regardless though. There is also no hike at all in the dark. You get dropped off at the viewing point very early (as this area is so busy we got dropped off at 2:45am so the driver could park). We waited for 2 hours until we decided to go to a view point 5mins away. Make sure to bring warm clothes! The view was absolutely beautiful on mount Bromo and I got some great shots. We then headed to the crater and did a 25minutes hike up. We left the area and were back in Malang by 10:30am. This area was extremely busy (up to 200 cars doing the same tour) so the experience didn’t feel quite authentic, however the view was worth it.

Going for "Sunrise trip" with no sunrise? - No time for anything, they hurry all the trip. They texted us the day before the trip that they will pick us up at midnight, so we went to sleep and set alarm for 23:45. When we woke up I had missed calls from our driver who texted me at 23:25 that he is waiting for us. After picking up other people (there were 6 of us in the Jeep) we went for a 3 hour journey to the volcano, but the jeep is so uncomfortable and packed that you simply can’t sleep. We arrived to King Kong Viewpoint at around 3AM, the driver just showed us the direction where to go and stayed at the car. He also told us to be back at the car at 5:30 even though the sunrise time is officially at 5:33. So you arrive at the viewpoint at complete darkness, ahead of other people, and exactly at the moment when it starts to be interesting, when the sky starts to be dark blue and you can see the wonder under you, you should pack and go back to the jeep as the walk to the jeep takes 15 minutes. The driver told us it is because long queues that are on the streets later, but if I woke up at midnight for a sunrise I don’t care about waiting in queue on the way back, I want to see the sunrise as it was precisely the reason for the entire trip… Next stop is a walk to a rim of a volcano, the driver gave us 45 minutes to go there and back. Only the way to the rim took us 35 minutes, how should we enjoy the amazing views if have to rush back? Of course the driver waited for us, but you simply don’t enjoy the time you paid for if you are being rushed all day. We saw a lot of other amazing viewpoints along the way back but we didn’t stop anywhere, not even just for a quick photo.
