Surabaya - Bondowoso

Bondowoso - Your tour begins with a pick-up at Surabaya Airport upon your arrival (preferably before 12 pm). You will then be transferred to a hotel in Bondowoso (approximately a 5-hour drive), with a stop at a local restaurant in Probolinggo for lunch at your own expense. Upon arrival at the hotel in Bondowoso, you will have dinner and rest.

Mount Ijen Blue Fire - Bromo area

Ijen Crater - The Ijen Tour starts at midnight from the hotel, driving directly to Paltuding (Ijen parking area) in a 90-minute trip. From there, you will be guided to the trailhead at the Ijen ranger post to begin the trek to the Ijen crater (approximately 1 to 1.5 hours). At the crater rim, you will witness the stunning Blue Flame from the massive crater and the 200-meter deep turquoise sulfuric crater lake. You will also observe some of the world’s toughest workers enduring toxic fumes and challenging terrain to carry 70kg sacks filled with sulfur deposits for their livelihood.

Bromo Stargazing & Sunrise Tour - Madakaripura Waterfall - Surabaya Night Tour

Mount Bromo - Around 2 am, you will prepare for Mount Bromo Stargazing and Milky Way viewing. After marveling at the beautiful night sky, you will continue to witness the sunrise over the Bromo landscape. Rising from the flat volcanic sand bed of the caldera are the dormant core of Mount Batok (2440m) and the active volcano of Mount Bromo (2329m). Further south beyond the crater wall lies the mighty Gunung Semeru (3676m) – the highest and most active volcano in Java. After enjoying the sunrise, you will take an exciting 4WD ride over the Sea of Sand to the Bromo crater rim. After exploring the Bromo crater, you will return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, and check-out.

Madakaripura Waterfall - After visiting the Bromo crater, you will drive for an hour to Madakaripura Waterfall and trek to the waterfall with a local guide. Following this, you will be transferred to Surabaya.

Juanda International Airport - After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Juanda International Airport for your flight home.

The fuming Mount Bromo rising from the flat volcanic sand bed of the gigantic caldera will be a sight to behold. The top of Mount Bromo can be reached via 253 concrete steps making it one of the most accessible active volcanos in the world. End the trip with a visit to Surabaya, home to many of the nation’s fiercest independence fighters and thus known to locals as Kota Pahlawan (City of Heroes).
