Discover Shakepeare's world as a 7 year old to see his Tudor England excitingly brought to life - A relatively new Shakespeare venue to visit after the King Edward VI moved its library in 2016. The trip comes in two parts. Downstairs learning about the Guildhall where John Shakespeare (William's father) was an Alderman and later Mayor. Upstairs is the original classroom (still used today), where William attended for 6-7 years from the age of seven upwards. You have guides for both sections who know their subject well to give you a very informative insight into the world of Shakespeare as a child and some of the key influences that would shape his later plays. The upstairs guide plays the part of a Master from the time and is brilliant. It was a hugely entertaining and informative 90-minute visit

Great experience & customer service - A great place to go. After the trip, I came to learn more and understand better why Latin, poem and drama play essential parts in the British art culture. More importantly, the staff were very nice and friendly. I accidentally left my ribbed knitted hat in the classroom during the visit. Thanks to their kindness for mailing it to my hotel, I managed to have my hat back. Really appreciate it.

Simply Brilliant - We expected to just see a classroom but what we got was so much more. It was a semi immersive experience of Elizabethan school life and class subjects. The room itself is still used by the school's students every morning. The highlight was brilliantly provided by "Master Jenkins", a docent in period dress. The details of the coursework and student life was fascinating.

Interesting and enjoyable! - We were allowed to stay for far longer than the advertised time allocation, and our first guide was thorough and conscientious in her explanations and her care for our enjoyment of the experience. It was a real bonus to sit in Shakespeare's schoolroom with his teacher (!), and the little extras, like putting on some aspects of Shakesperean dress, were fun!

Fascinating place, very helpful, knowledgable staff. - I visited Shakespeare’s Schoolhouse as part of a research tour of various Shakespeare related places in Stratford, and I would highly recommend visiting. Obviously, it’s a building of incredible significance, and has been carefully maintained (it’s still used as a school today!). The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, quite happy to have a chat and answer any questions you might have. There are opportunities to see 15th century art on the walls, learn to write with a quill and ink, and even ‘meet’ Shakespeare’s tutor, Mr Jenkins. Overall, it was an enriching experience, and something you can’t miss if you visit Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Every day's a school day! - The experience lasted approximately 90 minutes, and we were made to feel welcome to stay longer! Our main guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable, and went into great detail about Shakespeare's upbringing and the building itself. It was a bonus to learn about the school lessons from Shakespeare's master himself (!) and the touches like being able to practise using a quill and ink and dress in period costume were bonuses! We really enjoyed our time and left feeling like we had learnt a lot!
