Very informative but not dry. Great speaker and format!

The meeting was very well organized with ease of booking attendance and reminder prompts sent out regularly. The local man who delivered the lecture conveyed his love of the subject matter and appreciation for the von Trapp family. Some of the many details he shared were repeated in the documentary but the repetition made the information easier to assimilate in the listener. The documentary was simply wonderful; superb, and showcased the quiet charm of the matriarch, Maria von Trapp. My husband and I both found it a special privilege that Maria’s granddaughter would impart her knowledge of the resort and memories of the family with personal flourishes and an interest in questions from the audience with candid, intelligent responses. This was 90 minutes well spent and it enriched the experience of our stay at the Trapp Family Lodge.

Excellent historical overview and presentation by the speaker. Documentary with Maria tied everything together. Highlight was Sam’s question and answer session and getting him to sign the Trapp Family book. Highly recommend.

The talk exceeded my expectations. It was a pleasure to meet a member of the Von Trapp family. I have always been inspired by this story, and it’s been a lifelong goal of mine to hear more about the actual events. this experience for anyone interested in the history of the family.
