A window into New Orleans culture and origins - This museum is new and a long time coming! Located in the quarter right below Rampart Street and very easy to walk to. Fascinating and very well organized - this would be a great entry- point museum to learn about the history of the city if you are a first time visitor to New Orleans. The exhibits include just enough reading and many artifacts including: slot machines, peep show viewers, personal paraphernalia from area bordellos, musical instruments, jazz recordings and interactive dioramas. The museum gives just the right amount of the settling of the city, prostitution, gambling and music. Storyville itself is lost to history and we are greatful that this museum brings it to life. There is alot to learn here and we would definitely return for another visit!

A walk through the French arriving to the New Orleans we know now. - A great compilation of the history of the city... how it began to where it is now... the facts and legends that created the city of New Orleans.

Worth a visit! - The Storyville Museum was great! It gives a thorough look into the history of the district from the founding of the colony through it's end, though it does strangely skip the Spanish colonial period. There are interesting artifacts and a section on how jazz developed in the time and area. I learned a lot and feel it was time we'll spent!
