- Rua Engenheiro Adozindo Magalhães - When booking only the cooking class, it will commence at the home where the activity takes place. While enjoying your drink and some appetizers, you will make the famous bread “pão de queijo.” Learn about the ingredients, their origins, and sample simply cooked vegetables that are integral to our cuisine and its roots. Discover the special cheese “queijo coalho” and create a delicious pineapple pepper jelly to accompany it. Since the dessert needs time to cool, you will prepare it first; “brigadeiro” is a traditional, easy-to-make sweet, popular in Brazilian cafes. For the main dish, marinate fish, prawns, or seafood for the “moqueca.” Side dishes include Brazilian-style rice, “pirão,” and “farofa.” Conclude the experience with coffee from the Bahia region, followed by liqueur. Then we will drive to my home where the culinary activity will take place. After finish you go back to your accommodation on your own.

Fun evening with good food! - I had a very fun evening. The host was super nice and the food was really good.We learned how to prepare typical brazilian dishes and also a lot about the culture. We also made our own caipirinhas. I would definitely come again!

Cooking with Karla - Such a fun cooking class with Karla! Really great company and conversations, and we made many classic Brazilian and Bahian dishes. Cooking in a home was a very nice and authentic experience.

Great food and friends, not to be missed! - As soon as we arrived at Karla’s family home, we felt so welcomed and were swept into a fun and tantalizing evening of authentic Bahian cuisine and great conversation. We were fortunate to have the class to ourselves, and it felt more like a dinner party with great friends than a class—although we learned a lot of delicious recipes that we are stoked to bring back home and share with friends and family. Karla is super worldly and knowledgeable about food/ Bahian culture, having the chance to spend an evening with her and eat her fantastic food was definitely the highlight of our trip. Come hungry!!

Like cooking with a good friend! - Cooking with Karla was the highlight of our trip to Salvador! My husband and I loved shopping at the market for fresh ingredients and later cooking in her home! We made delicious grilled okra, cheese, the best cheese bread, tapioca flour shrimp, fish moqueca and chocolate brigadero! Karla was so easy and fun to be with, we felt we were friends for a long time! I highly recommend this class when visiting Salvador!

Delicious dishes, delightful drinks and great company! - We had a great experience with Karla and her cooking class. The market visit was insightful and Karla had some great recommendations. The dishes and caipirinhas were fun to make and were delicious!
Although Karla's house is out of the city centre, it was very easy booking transport at the end of the class.
Karla was very friendly and welcoming - we would highly recommend this experience!

Cooking with Karla - Everything was well communicated before we met at the market.
Karla took us on a trip around the market and showed us the local foods and let us taste fruits and sweets and even cachaca!
She then drove us to her home. We had an wonderful afternoon cooking and eating local specialities of the region. Karla was a fantastic host, her English was excellent and we made to feel very welcome. The meals we prepared were delicious and we chatted a lot about food and she gave us recommendations of where to eat etc in Salvador and Sao Paolo!
I loved everything about this experience.

Best Cooking Class in Salvador - Karla was amazing, from the conversations to the food! I felt so welcome in her home and the dishes were delicious. I spent a short time in Salvador and didn’t get to try many foods but the dishes we made, made me feel even more connected to the culture of Salvador. Highly recommend and thank you Karla for having us!
