An Absolutely Must Do For Any Football Fan - It may be simple enough to go to a match at the Maracana under your own steam and save a little cash but for ease with the transport and a guide included in case of problems we decided to do it this way and are glad we did. You have to register your biometrics beforehand (instructions are provided) as your face is your ticket and the procedure took a few minutes with no hitches. The only downside to the evening was that it was raining so we couldn't go to the local bar beforehand for some pre match atmosphere - apparently the "local bar" is just a local's garage that he opens on match days but the rain prevented this - so we ended up going into the stadium as it opened around 2 - 3 hours before kick off. As it turned out, because of refurbishment for the 2014 word cup, it was actually really nice in the concourse and getting food and drinks was a breeze. For the match itself you are not actually allocated a seat so you can just sit where you like so people flitted all over the place. You're not tied to your group or guide during the game, you just meet at a designated place afterwards, The atmosphere was incredible, much better than any UK stadium I've been to, and the noise was kept up the whole 90 minutes. Winning 2-0 probably helped with this. Afterwards it was nice to have a bus waiting to take us back to Copacabana as trying to get transport back with nearly 50,000 others would have been bedlam for someone who's first night this was in Rio.

Don’t miss a Mengao match at Maracana - Excellent tour we hired him by the Get Your Ride page, we went to see the Flamengo vs Inter Porto Alegre match, we were taken in a combi, we were invited a beer in the corners of the maracana, the two guides some cracks. They made us come in, we enjoyed the game as if we were local, the only bad thing that Mengao only made 1 goal and we could not celebrate much. The check-out was perfect and in a few minutes we were at the hotel.

MUST DO EXPERIENCE! - An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish, such an amazing and professional company, first time ever in rio and going to experience the iconic maracana stadium, our guide Alex, is a legend, super funny , took amazing care of all of us from the moment we met until the game was over, he’s a credit to the company, he showed us exactly what going to see flamengo is truly all about, he brought us a little bar with all the fans before the game to soak up the amazing atmosphere of match day and to have a beer, which he bought the first round for us, and some food, this is a must in rio and can’t recommend enough using insider adventures enough if travelling to rio, thank you for such a fantastic experience!

High Energy Experience - Attended a soccer game at Maracanã Stadium and had a blast. As English speakers, we were happy to have a multilingual guide with plenty of experience. There is some pre registration required to be allowed into the stadium and we had some hiccups being scanned to enter but our guide helped us with the process. Highly recommend!!!

Flamenco game trip - Such a fun time and well-coordinated. Our guide “G” was great; very knowledgeable and fun. The stadium was crazy loud and we had to stand for the whole game but it’s all part of the experience.

This experience was... - This experience was brilliant! Mariana was a brilliant tour guide, very friendly and ensured we all enjoyed the football. Having a guide took the stress out of getting to the ground yourself and having to figure out where to sit, thank you so much!

Best thing to do in Rio de Janeiro! - I must say how much I enjoyed the tour with Matheus and his two friends, Pedro and Marianna. Having the three of them around made the experience even better. They were so warm and friendly, and their enthusiasm for futbol was contagious. They treated us like old friends, sharing personal stories and making sure everyone was having a great time. It was a wonderful way to experience the local culture and futbol spirit. I felt very lucky to be part of it and would happily recommend this tour to anyone wanting a fun and authentic taste of Brazil.
