It was at this table that Dom Pedro I, seeking a meal amidst one of the most breathtaking views, would leave his residence at Quinta da Boa Vista and travel with his cart towards Estrada da Vista China.
At 487 meters above sea level, the Emperor’s Table offers breathtaking views of the city, blending urbanization with nature. Stairs around the parapet lead visitors to the edge of a concrete ramp, creating a magnificent setting.
- Capela Mayrink - Pause briefly at this historic chapel. The charming pink chapel nestled in the woods, 460 meters above sea level, resembles a storybook house. Built in 1860 by Portuguese banker Viscount de Souto on his farm in Tijuca Forest, the Chapel is a highlight of Tijuca National Park. The altar features reproductions of panels with sacred images by Cândido Portinari. The gardens, along with the Carrara marble and tiled patio tub with a frowning spout, were designed by landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx.
- Vista Chinesa - Enjoy a panoramic view from the Tijuca Rainforest. At Vista Chinesa (Chinese View), capture expansive views of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, Guanabara Bay, and even Niteroi.
The lookout was constructed between 1902 and 1906. The oriental-style pagoda honors the Chinese who introduced tea cultivation to Brazil in the early 19th century.
Made of bamboo and cement, and located 380 meters above sea level, it is a significant tourist attraction in the city.
