Spend an entire day exploring the countryside of Crete with a local guide. The journey takes you off-road, offering a unique opportunity to experience the true heart of Crete. Travel through the mountains to the vineyards of the wine regions, passing quaint villages and traversing a riverbed shaded by bamboo, surrounded by abundant nature. Cross the river, which may have water flowing in April, May, and again from mid-September. A highlight of the trip is visiting a cave. Enjoy a coffee break in a charming mountain village, right in the square next to the church. Continue the adventure through several small villages, along dirt tracks, and through lush nature and aromatic herbs, passing olive groves and vineyards. Stop for lunch in a tiny mountain village with a breathtaking view. After lunch, drive through a mountainous area, and on the descent, take in the stunning view of Crete’s north coast. Join the adventure! DRIVING CONDITIONS: see further information!
- POSSIBILITY DRIVING the jeep: min 21 years old AND min 3 years driving license AND min 3 years MANUAL driving experience AND in the last year NOT only driven an automatic car. Travelers with a driving License from countries driving at the right side of the car, are not allowed by insurance to drive. We are not a driving school, so only responsible drivers! Comfortable shoes, no flip flops. ABSOLUTE ALCOHOL BAN for drivers.

Released on 19 May 2025 - Louise, our guide, was bubbly while giving us useful information to discover Inner Crete and the people in the group were very friendly! A beautiful day, a traditional coffee, a delicious meal, the oil factory, everything was worth a visit... thank you for a beautiful day.

Awesome day - We had a very nice day, very varied. Nature, culture and history, it was all in this day. The group was completely Dutch with a Dutch guide, so the atmosphere was nice and loose and the group was a unity. Thank you Gijs!

What an incredible day in the hinterland of Crete! We loved every moment of this adventure in 4x4 (even the bumps... almost!). Thank you for your smile, your energy, and your passion that you share so well.
the breathtaking scenery, everything was perfect.
Stay the way you are, you're a golden guide. We leave with memories full of head... and a little dust on the shoes.

I recommend - A wonderful memory of that day in jeep with Louise. We went in April 2024 with my husband and we have only one thing in mind to come back with our children.

Learned a lot about Crete and a fun experience - A nice trip and good guide Gijs!
Lots of fun seen: a cave, olive oil factory and many local places.

Top adventure with beautiful off road stretches and views - Nice guide and top arranged all. Gijs talks passionately and proudly about Crete, the cave etc
Enough (pee) breaks and beautiful views along the way.
Lunch was also super arranged. Many cats looked to see if we ate everything. Haha.

4 x 4 safari - Fantastic day out. Guide was excellent and went into great detail wherever we went. A real display of the culture and friendliness here at Crete. Lunch was lovely. Well recommend.

Beautiful walk, great Guide. - a great 4x4 excursion with lots of trail , away from tourist traps and with beautiful scenery.
A special mention for our young Guide Louise who is impressive by her knowledge, the quality of her explanations and her sense of humor. Beyond being an excellent Guide and a pretty young woman, Louise is a beautiful, positive and generous person who is a plus value to any excursion.

APRIL 2025 - We stayed at the Mediterraneo Hotel.
We (2 people ) had registered in the hotel for the jeep safari.
There we were told that we can drive all day but that there were going to be 2 people with us from behind who do NOT want to drive.
Upon arrival at the organization and having received the explanation from an elderly lady, she had put us in the jeep with 2 other Belgians.
But the 2 Belgians also live in the same hotel as us, they had also booked in the hotel and they were told that only they 2 were in a jeep and were allowed to drive all day.
We address the elderly lady who also spoke Dutch that this is not the intention of this excursion and that we wanted to drive ourselves..
Her answer was: Listen carefully, we do NOT participate in scams. And you're con men. We'll take you to the hotel RIGHT now, I don't need to know about people like that.
We said if you want this, okay, but then we want our money back or compensation. But this was NOT possible!
We were all blamed for this with all the other people around us who went on an excursion.
So far, I addressed the elderly lady and explained all this clearly, she called the person who had registered us for the excursion, this lady confirmed everything that this was correct.
She then also addressed the limburg girls: normally a jeep safari takes 4 hours but with those limburgers this will take longer....
But unfortunately had no compensation or compensation, not even a sincere sorry.
For the rest; the instructors Gijs and Louise were tops!
Gijs told everything in Dutch and Louise in French and/or English.
We did see a lot of beautiful things.
