A problem with Voyage Jules Verne - Voyage Jules Verne. Having booked this tour there was no communication from the office until we contacted them asking for the itinerary. On the trip: The guide had no Basque country knowledge only that of southern Spain, where he lived and which we heard about every day. He read out notes about the Basque country off the net all the time which we could have done. The group with an average age of probably 65-70 had obviously travelled a lot over the years especially to Madrid and southern Spain. This obviously never occured to him. His organisational skills were none existent and his English was terrible (he was Swedish so we had a two-way problem). The hotels were good but the basic tour problem was that apart from The Guggenheim in Bilbao the towns had very little to offer the visitor. The amount of "relaxing time with a coffee" meant that most of each day was spent wandering around rather boring towns and villages trying to find something of interest. This was our first VLV trip and it will definitely be the last. Read some of the comments from other VJV travellers and you'll get the idea. Maybe the ground operator was to blame? There are much better tour operators to travel with so DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on VJV.
