Highlights
  • Dariya Daulat Palace - Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace - We arrive at the historic town of Sri Rangapatnam, which served as the capital of Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore, in the 18th century. We will explore his life, from the day he fought and killed a tiger with a dagger, to his courageous battles with the British, his administrative and economic reforms, and his pioneering use of rockets in warfare. He is recognized as a pioneer in using rockets for warfare, a technology the British later adapted during World War I.

We visit Dariya Daulat Bagh, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace. Built in Indo-Sarcenic style, it features several magnificent murals depicting Tipu’s wars with the British. The most notable exhibit is the famous painting “Storming of Srirangapatna” by Sir Robert Ker Porter, which illustrates the final fall of Srirangapatna on May 4, 1799, when the British defeated Tipu’s forces.

  • Captain Bailey’s Dungeon - Colonel Bailey Dungeon is the infamous dungeon where Tipu imprisoned several British officers during the war. Stories about this notorious place will be shared during the tour!

  • Mysuru Palace - We visit the grand Mysore Palace and spend a couple of hours exploring this marvel built in Indo-Saracenic style, blending Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic architectural styles. The Palace is a three-storied stone structure with marble domes and a 145 ft five-storied tower. The guided tour will take you through the Public Hall, Private Hall, Dolls Pavilion, and the Royal Wedding Hall.

  • M D TOUSEEF VEGETABLES - Next on our tour of Mysore, we visit Devraja Market, the charming old bazaar of Mysore. It’s a sensory delight filled with flowers, vegetables, fruits, jaggery, onions, potatoes, puffed rice, and coconuts!

  • St. Philomena’s Church - We visit St. Philomena’s Church. Built in 1840, it was initially called St. Joseph Chavez before being renamed. Originally a small church, it took its current form in 1933 during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. In 1843, Mysore King Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar built the church to serve the European residents of Mysore. Today, it is the second-largest church in Asia.

  • Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum - We visit India’s first sand sculpture museum. Conceived and built by Gowri, a leading sand sculptor, the museum took 4 months and 115 loads of construction sand to build. There are 16 themes with 150 sculptures on display.

Excellent tour of Mysore Palace - We used 5 senses tours to get a private tour of the Mysore Palace. 5 senses was very responsive and immediately worked out a customised plan for us at very short notice. The guide called us in advance to confirm the time, was very knowledgeable and extremely polite. As my parents are old and can't walk very fast, he was very mindful about this and ensured we went at a slow pace Overall I would recommend 5 senses tours as they are very professional, knowledgeable and are happy to customize

Fantastic experience in Bangalore! Fantastic Tour guide! - I am writing this review on behalf of my mother Mrs Anne Perera and her sister for whom I arranged this trip. They had a great time and was very very pleased with the Tour guide Justin Jay! More than even the trip, my mother and her sister were very pleased with Justin Jay’s helpfulness and kindness. Everything about the tour was impeccable. The drop offs and pick ups happened on time and Jay communicated with me and gave me updates regularly. Highly recommend this tour company and Justin Jay the tour guide! Thanks a lot!!

Good day trip to Mysore - We toured the palaces, temples and markets near Mysore. Divakar is super knowledgeable about the culture and history, and kept me engaged throughout the experience. Because of him, I did not feel bored one moment even though I'm soloing. The traditional Indian cuisine served on banana leaves is nothing like I've eaten before and I enjoyed it immensely. Would definitely recommend this day excursion to anyone who's visiting BLR for business.

Great day trip from Bangalore - I really enjoyed the day tour to Mysore. The tour began with getting picked up from my hotel in Bangalore. My guide Vignesh was fantastic - he really made sure I had a great day! At the different sights I was able to learn a lot about the history of the area. Vignesh also told me a lot of very interesting facts about India, which was great during the long car ride. 😊 One of my highlights was definitely the food during the trip - we had some dosas for breakfast in the morning because I did not have time to eat before and an amazing lunch. Best food I had in India yet! I can only recommend this tour and especially Vignesh as a guide. Thank you!

Fuss-free and enjoyable day trip from Bangalore - Booked this Mysore tour and my guide Vignesh and driver Manjunath were amazing. We covered all the key sights in Mysore, and Vignesh brought us to try South Indian traditional thali for lunch which was really delicious! I highly recommend this day trip if you are in Bangalore, especially if you're into history and culture! If you've got additional things you wanna see or try, you can let your guide know and they'll add it into the itinerary.
