Very good safari with Shiran - Thanks to Shiran who drove the jeep, we had an excellent safari, and were able to see about thirty species during the day and take pictures! It was a very good experience

Great! - It was a very good experience. The driver did his best to see many animals and in particular the leopard, we were lucky and saw one cross. The park was pretty crowded with cars and having a driver who works like that makes a difference.

Awesome - Really nice day. The guide was super nice, and we could see a lot of different animals. Even a leopard! If you book all day safari, they offer breakfast and lunch. Recommend this tour. It was amazing.

Amazing experience! - The tour was organized very well and whole experience was amazing. I saw 4 (!) leopards, 2 of them up close apart from a host of other animals and birds. The guide was also very proactive. Kudos to him for a very memorable trip. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing full day safari! - I did a full day private tour Yala Safari with transfer to and from Mirissa on Christmas Day. I was traveling solo (hence the “private” tour) with limited time so I opted for a full day. Wow! What an amazing tour I am so glad I went with this company. Not sure about the negative reviews I’m reading here, I didn’t have any of those experiences. The safari drive can be bumpy and fast, for sure, so just be prepared. I personally loved it. Very reasonably priced for everything included! The communication from Anupa was thorough throughout the entire booking process on. The driver to and from Mirissa, Ruu, was great! He was on time and a safe driver with good conversation! At the safari drop off, I met my guide Janaka with a Land Rover. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide! I did let the company know I wanted a knowledgeable guide who can tell me all about the animals and ecology, geology, etc. They provided. Janaka has so much experience and was able to spot wildlife so far off in the distance with the naked eye that I had difficulty spotting with binoculars. (Bring binoculars!) He knew all of the names of the animals and where to look. We saw monkeys, deer, elephants, birds, water buffalo, crocodiles, reptiles, sambar, a sloth bear and even a leopard cross the road! Anupa was very considerate to let me know that on Christmas Day the park may be crowded. Fortunately, it did not feel crowded at all! Of course when all the jeeps congregate to see a leopard but I think that is expected. Otherwise there were hours that went by we didn’t see another jeep. Overall, it was so worth the full day tour! I have no complaints and look forward to booking with Tiger Safari again!

Great company to go with! - What an experience! Even though we had terrible weather (rain all day) we saw everything we wanted to - leopard, elephants (twice, including a cheeky elephant that wanted to play with us), water buffalo, monitor lizard, jackal, crocodile and many birds (including Eagle, toucans and owls). Our guide, Ish, made the experience what it was. Without him I am sure we would not have seen what we did - he was punctual, very knowledgeable, a terrific driver (especially in the difficult terrain brought on by the rains) and articulate. He catered to our diverse group and was very hospitable.

An amazing safari - would love to go again! - We had a superb trip. We were picked up from our hotel and joined the rest of the tour group and guide in Yala, where we had speedy entry into the park. The guide was very experienced, knowledgeable and able to predict the movement of animals. We saw a leopard cross our path and were the front jeep to see this, as our guide had correctly predicted the movement of the animal. We also saw many elephants up close, deer, water buffalo, crocodiles a jackal and some other animals, as well as many birds - all of which the guide named and gave us further information about eg bee-eaters, hummingbirds, kingfishers, herons etc. The food on the trip was good and drinks were provided. All tours had a compulsory 2 hour break (12-2) in the middle - this took place at a sheltered rest stop (with a cafe, restaurant and toilets) next to the sea, which was a good opportunity to walk along the sea front, rest on rocks and for some to sunbathe or paddle in the water - so bring a towel and your swim costume if you want a swim! After the trip we were returned to our hotel by the guide and then driver…who was the safari company owner and very helpful. I can’t recommend this day trip enough and the service was excellent! Book now!

Avoid dubious operators - I am furious! We brought very nice food for our breakfast. They grabbed our food bags right when we entered the vehicle, stating they'd give it back at out breakfast break. Instead they served their own crappy breakfast. During lunch they served their own foood again, out of buckets.... My guess is that the driver ate ours. Because when we asked for our food bags back at the end of the trip, he said he threw it in the rubbish. Hello? OUR BAGS? Completely immoral!! Safari was nothing to write home about either. Felt more like a formula 1 race against the other drivers. Always in circles because the park is quite small. Instead of stopping and giving us the opportunity to observe the wildlife the driver raced from one point to the next constantly. Cannot recommend. Mediocre safari experience and it seemed to me as if they stole our property, then lied to our face. Dismal!
