Safari on a human scale - Human-sized Safari: only 1 other Jeep besides ours. Guides know where elephants are. We were able to take beautiful pictures. I recommend this safari.
Only downside: the entrance fee indicated at $12 per person is increased by various additional charges...

Great experience far from mass tourism - We booked a private tour and had a great time!
The guides were very friendly and responded to individual requests.
We saw many different animal species and were able to get close to the elephants in particular.
I would absolutely recommend the tour. It was especially great that we were the only tourists in the national park.

Great park. - The park is just beautiful and I can only recommend.
But please pay attention to where you book the jeep. Our Jeep the driver and guide was a disaster. Although we booked through Booking com.
The jeep so dirty and displaced seats and the floor rusted through.
So pay attention to where you book.

Unprofessional, exploitation of the locals - Aside from the naturalist (who was fantastic) the tour was a near disaster. I arranged transport with the tour operator, to and from the safari park at an extra cost of 40USD. The driver did not come down the road to the hotel, and instead waited in the main road a fair distance away. Consequently, when another driver arrived, with the enormous language barrier, we had to assume it was for me. Confusion had arisen with regards to the booking of the safari - with the hotel thinking they were organising it, and it actually being organised externally. Whilst there was this mix up, if the driver had bothered to actually drive down the road to the hotel, the mix up would not have happened. As a result of the mix up, my safari was delayed by 1.5 hours, and with it being an early morning safari, we saw very little wildlife. It’s an incredibly expensive half day safari, and added to this, the tour operator wanted me to pay for the transport in both directions. I paid for the journey back to the hotel, but refused to pay for the journey to the park. The tour operator was (by WhatsApp) extremely rude, unhelpful and bullying - insisting I pay the full amount for the transport. Do not go with these operators - I understand their company is pretty successful with their tours in the big ‘touristy’ parks - where there is lots of competition to keep them in check. However, in this emerging national park, they are exploiting locals who are inexperienced and have no English language. Additionally, the safari truck was in terrible repair - photos attached. And to add insult to injury, the driver transported someone else as well - we never worked out who this person was!
