Pick up from the Airport and proceed to Sigiriya

Negombo - Enjoy a cup of Sri Lankan tea or some snacks.

Pettah Floating Market - Located in Colombo, the Pettah Market is a lively and vibrant marketplace that is a must-see for anyone visiting Sri Lanka’s capital. With its rich history, diverse culture, and unique shopping experiences, Pettah Market offers an incredible array of sights, sounds, and tastes that will leave you in awe. From traditional spices to intricate textiles, this market has it all.

Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple - Situated near Beira Lake, this Buddhist temple is renowned for its religious significance and its collection of religious statues in the museum. The annual religious festival held in February, along with the scenic view of the lake, makes Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple a central attraction in Colombo.

Colombo National Museum - Opened in 1877 with just 800 exhibits, the National Museum Colombo now boasts over 100,000 exhibits and the most important library on the island. Its popularity led the Sri Lankan Government to establish a new ministerial department dedicated solely to managing the Museum.

Galle Face Green - A popular spot in the commercial capital, Galle Face Green offers a break from the urban jungle. The wide green space allows for recreational activities like flying kites and playing cricket. Coupled with the exquisite street food along the coast, it becomes the perfect place to relax before heading back to Lake Lodge for the night.

Sigiriya and Polannaruwa

Polonnaruwa - The second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first established by the Chola dynasty after their successful invasion of Anuradhapura in the 10th century. The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa is a World Heritage Site.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya is a site of historical and archaeological significance, dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, King Kashyapa (477 – 495 AD) selected this site for his new capital. He built his palace on top of the rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. A gateway in the form of an enormous lion was built halfway up the rock. The name Sigiriya, derived from Sīnhāgiri (Lion Rock), comes from this structure. After the king’s death, the capital and royal palace were abandoned and later used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Today, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

Sigiriya to Kandy

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, this Buddhist temple houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. The relic has played an important role in local politics, as it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple. Bhikkhus of the Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters conduct daily worship in the inner chamber of the temple, with rituals performed three times daily. On Wednesdays, a symbolic bathing of the relic with a herbal preparation called Nanumura Mangallaya takes place. This holy water is believed to have healing powers and is distributed among those present.

Dambulla Royal Cave Temple - Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, this World Heritage Site (1991) is located in the central part of Sri Lanka. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, with the rock towering 160 m over the surrounding plains. The site features more than 80 documented caves, with major attractions spread over five caves containing statues and paintings related to Gautama Buddha and his life. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square meters (23,000 sq ft) and include depictions of the temptation by the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.

Kandy to Ella

Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls, standing at 109 m (358 ft) high, is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th highest in the world. It is located in the Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass, and is formed by Panna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. The falls are situated at an altitude of 945 m (3,100 ft) above sea level.

Nuwara Eliya - Known as the “city on the plain (table land)” or “city of light,” Nuwara Eliya is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District. It features a picturesque landscape and temperate climate, situated at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft). Nuwara Eliya is considered the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka and is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in the country. The city is known for its cool climate, making it the coolest area in Sri Lanka.

Nanu Oya - We offer a free train tour from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, known as the best scenic train ride in Sri Lanka.

Ella Site Seeing

Little Adam’s Peak View Point - Hiking Little Adam’s Peak in Sri Lanka is one of the most epic activities to do in Ella. The peak can be easily hiked without a guide, as there is a marked path with plenty of signposts. You’ll see many other tourists on the same path, which is reassuring for first-time hikers. The peak is named after Adam’s Peak due to its similar shape, though it is smaller and less challenging. This guide will cover everything you need to know about hiking Little Adam’s Peak, including its location, how to get there, what to bring, and more.

Nine Arches Bridge - Also known as the Bridge in the Sky, the Nine Arch Bridge is a viaduct bridge in Sri Lanka and one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. The bridge’s construction is generally attributed to local Ceylonese builder P. K. Appuhami, in consultation with British engineers. The chief designer and project manager of the ‘upcountry railway line of Ceylon’ project was D. J. Wimalasurendra, a distinguished Ceylonese engineer and inventor. The viaduct’s designer was Harold Cuthbert Marwood of the Railway Construction Department of Ceylon Government Railway. The 1923 report titled “Construction of a Concrete Railway Viaduct in Ceylon” by the Engineering Association of Ceylon includes all the records, plans, and drawings.

Ella Rock - Ella Rock is a well-known hiking spot in Sri Lanka, offering breathtaking views. When visiting this stunning part of the country, the Ella Rock Hike is a must-do activity.

Ella to Yala NP or Udawalawa NP

Udawalawe National Park - Located on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, Udawalawe National Park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River and to protect the reservoir’s catchment area. The park covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi) and was established on 30 June 1972. Before becoming a national park, the area was used for shifting cultivation (chena farming). The park is 165 kilometers (103 mi) from Colombo and is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country.

Rawana Falls - Ravana Falls is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka and ranks as one of the widest falls in the country.

Galle via Yala or Udawalawa national park

Galle Fort - Located in the Bay of Galle on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, Galle Fort was first built in 1588 by the Portuguese and extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage monument that maintains a polished appearance due to extensive reconstruction work by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. The fort has a colorful history and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population. The Sri Lankan government and many Dutch property owners inside the fort aim to make it one of the modern wonders of the world. Recognized by UNESCO, the site is inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique exposition of “an urban ensemble which illustrates.

Jungle Beach - If you are visiting the famous Unawatuna site, the Japanese Peace Pagoda, you are in luck. Right down the street from the Buddhist temple is the trail to the best Jungle Beach. This part seems like the less touristy segment of the beach. Follow the trail past a few guest houses and restaurants, then make your way down a mess of rocks and tree roots until you emerge with a view of a gorgeous sandy beach surrounded by jungle.

100% recommended! Rafi is the best!!💫 - 100% recommended. I hired them because I saw them on a blog and they got back to me super quick. I booked with them through whatsapp to have a private driver during the 9 days trip through Sri Lanka and sent them my itinerary and they totally adapted to it. The budget included train ticket and sim card, which facilitated many procedures from the beginning. We got Raffaideen (Rafi for her Spanish friends😂) as a driver and really happy. Super punctual, always recommending sites and activities to do and always very attentive to us. In addition he always had the car suuuuu super clean (although almost always without music although if you ask him he sure puts it🤣🤣). Thanks to it we made the Yala Safari even a little cheaper than in other companies or hotels and also discovered the tsunami museum made by a local where it was home. Besides, when he came with us to some activities he always took pictures and sent it to us immediately. An amazing experience❤️

Shesha best driver ever - We spent 12 days in Sri Lanka with our amazing private driver Shesha. I booked from WhatsApp and everything was perfect. Shesha was very caring, very punctual, he proposed some nice Things to do. It was a real pleasure to have such a wonderful driver who took care of us, who drove carefully and even when we had a problem with a monkey bite he knew how to immediately find us a doctor and take us to the hospital. The car was always clean and very comfortable. I recommend 100% this company and especially Shesha who is a person of great kindness. Great memories and lots of fun on this wonderful journey.

Quality and service - Mr. Fazool and his team are probably part of the best in Sri Lanka. The prices are unbeatable, and the level of service is exceptionally high. I sincerely recommend them. We felt safe traveling as a family with young children. The drivers are extremely professional, especially Mr. Morcheed, who was a great help and truly exceptional. Communication with Mr. Fazool was very quick from the beginning. The driver was cultured, pleasant, knowledgeable about his country, made good recommendations, tried to please us, and provided great comfort and support to our children, which we greatly appreciated. We recommend them. Travelling in more than 60-70 countries had one of the best driver service experience ever even with very young kids (5 months and 3 years).

Safe for a solo traveler - During my trip to Sri Lanka, Mahesh made me felt taken care of, safe and content. As a solo traveller the first thing you worry about is your safety. I have never felt more safe. The country is safe and I trusted my driver. First day I went to Dambulla as first stop and then is how I realised I didn’t only have a driver but a tour guide too! And a photographer as well! He came up with me to show me the place and share the details. Same in the rest of the locations. He also helped me finding tours and hotels whenever I needed as well as suggestions of places to add to my plan without pushing for them and being ok with no for any answer. Also, he kept the car always clean. During the trip he did different stops to buy me local fruits and food so that I can have the full experience. At one point I was sick and the driver was very patient with me, finding me washrooms and stopping when needed. Also, when my phone battery died, he helped me taking pictures with his. Mahesh may over-index in hospitality, for example he didn’t let me carry my bags to the hotel as he expected hotel staff to do it even though my bag was not heavy at all. If you go to the beach, be ready for him to make you wash your feet, he really cares about his car! At the beginning I didn’t appreciate that as I had wet feet when coming down the hill which is dangerous for someone with weak knees like mine, but then I knew the drill and was ready for it. Mahesh, has great knowledge about the history of Sri Lanka. His English is not perfect, wasn’t expecting that, and at times I had to ask questions differently. This was not a communication blocker but sharing in case someone finds this important. I loved my time in Sri Lanka, I’m already planning to come back!

10 day tour from Negombo to Kandy via Trincomalee - We booked from France, a circuit with Sri Lanka Pvate Driver and enjoyed our ride with Isuru. He helped us effectively manage the practicalities of our requests. He also made us proposals for stops concerning peculiarities worthy of interest during our tour (hot baths, etc.). We might have liked a little more comments on the history and culture of the country but we are generally very satisfied.
