A must do - the highlight of our Whistler stay - This was a great day: We were picked up punctually in Whistler village and driven to the base (30 mins.. ish), where we were divided into four boats of 6 - 8 people, kitted out (wet suits, booties, wetsuit jacket and helmet) and given the safety training/ briefing. We piled into a US school bus and headed up river (c20 mins), where we hit the rapids straight away. The instructors' enthusiasm helped get everyone going and they even had some decent jokes.
At the bottom of the rapids, we returned to the bus, headed back up to the top and after a hot chocolate & cereal bar, did it all again. On the way we saw eagles, spawning salmon and other birds of prey. The rafting was reasonably challenging - you get pretty wet (though the wetsuits keep you perfectly warm) and thrown about in the bigger rapids. The instructors are highly competent, so it all went smoothly, plus the scenery is spectacular.
This was probably the highlight among several really excellent activities we did in Whistler.

Great Rafting - don’t miss this!! - This was an absolutely fantastic trip. The guides were great and they had the right gear to keep us warm. The scenery was beautiful and the river was a great white water experience. Frankie, our guide, was the best!! I highly recommend them.

Exhilarating great fun - don’t miss this! - Picked up in Whistler and driven to the rafting centre which has washrooms and changing facilities then driven up river for 2 and a half hours of exhilarating white water fun and laughter. Beautiful scenery absolutely stunning. Entertaining guides (thank you Frankie from Catalunya) and a couple of very amusing challenges (optional) along the way. Midway stop for iced tea and a protein bar in another beautiful spot and another stop off for a swim added to the experience. Some people on the tour not able to swim but wasn’t a problem. All in all an excellent afternoon!

Great Time! - It was a great time! The guides are all great, know what they’re doing, and make the experience a blast. They’re knowledgeable and funny! They’re all about safety which we truly appreciate. At base camp things run smoothly and everyone we encountered was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend

Great experience! - We were picked up in a minivan at 8am from whistler and drove for about an hour to the rafting centre. There we met up with the other participants who had either driven themselves or been picked up from other locations. It was there we got changed into wetsuits etc and left our valuables.
It was then onto an old school bus for another hour drive to the start of the rafting. (It sounds a lot of driving but the journeys were fine - great scenery so all went quickly)
We were 2 boats of 8 people each + an instructor. It all felt really safe and the instructors did a great job looking after everyone and making the whole experience a lot of fun.
The rafting itself was brilliant - be prepared to get wet...and the water is cold! Despite that, with the wetsuits we were wearing it never felt an issue and just added to the fun.
Would totally recommend it. The experience itself is great and so is the setting - beautiful scenery and we didn't see anyone else the whole time we were out.
The actual rafting itself was about 2.5 hours i think, with a short break mid trip for some hot chocolate and a protein bar.
There is the opportunity to buy photos that they have someone on the riverbank taking at various points - was nice to be able to have a record of the day. We were back to our hotel in Whistler by about 3.30pm - what a great day!

Adrian was great - From start to finish, our rafting trip was brilliant! Communication via email beforehand was clear and friendly, which made organising everything a breeze. When we arrived, the front desk team, the crew helping us get suited up, and the staff on the rafts were all fantastic — welcoming, efficient, and full of energy.
I’ll admit, I’m not a confident swimmer and was absolutely petrified at first. My partner, on the other hand, is a confident swimmer and was just excited for the thrill. Thankfully, Adrian, our guide, was brilliant. He answered all my endless questions with patience, knew the rapids inside out, and instantly put me at ease. He read the group’s mood perfectly, making sure everyone — from nervous first-timers to adrenaline seekers — got exactly what they wanted out of the day. He even threw in a few fun challenges as we meandered down the river! Calm, polite, and great company, Adrian made the experience unforgettable.
Annie also took some amazing professional photos along the way, which we couldn’t resist buying. The 50-minute bus ride to the rapids was a surprise, but once you’re on the water, it’s completely worth it. Highly recommend!

The best white water rafting in BC!!! - We had the most amazing day with this tour! The team was extremely efficient in getting us suited up properly and onto the busses. We ran into an issue with one of the trailers getting a flat tire, and this team worked so quickly to remedy the issue I barely noticed that it happened. The guides were funny (lots of jokes), kind, and clearly love their jobs. I felt safe at all times and truly had so much fun. I could not recommend them more!!!

Birthday Bucket List - We had such a great experience rafting with Canadian Outback Rafting company. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They supplied all of our gear and were very experienced with the river and the rapids. We had 2 members of our group that had never rafted before and our guide made them feel very safe. The only downside was the trip in the van from Vancouver to base camp in Squamish (1.5 hours). The roads are very windy, so if you get carsick I would take some anti nausea medication. Then it was another 50 minutes to the drop off point in a school bus, which is extremely bumpy. However, the scenery is so beautiful and the air is so fresh. The water is cold so when they recommend you wear a fleece over the wet suit and under the rain coat take the advice! It was a 10 out of 10 for our group. Other than the car sickness we loved the entire experience.
