Amazing insight into the history of the Palace - We were approached by Josko as we entered the Palace asking if we would be interested in the tour and we are so glad he did. His knowledge, not only of the palace, but the history of Split and Croatia was fantastic. He advised us at the beginning of the tour that it would be approximately 1.5 hours long but due to his attention to detail - showing us sections of the palace we might ordinarily have missed - it was just over 2 hours. Excellent value for money. Josko was very friendly and welcoming. We paid extra to view the basements and he accompanied us with his wealth of knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it.

Wonderful tour and an amazing guide - Our tour guide, Daniela, was extremely knowledgeable and shared countless fascinating historical facts and anecdotes with us. She wisely began the tour in the Palace Cellars, where she vividly explained what Diocletian’s Palace looked like in 305 AD, when the emperor retired and moved there as his summer residence. By the time we finished exploring the cellars, the unbearable cruise-ship crowds had moved on, allowing us to fully appreciate the palace buildings without having to fight our way through hordes of cruise tourists. It made the rest of the tour so much more enjoyable and gave us the chance to truly take in this remarkable historic site. We have already recommended this tour and Daniela to our friends who are currently planning their Croatia vacation.

Wonderful private tour full of facts and fun - Our tour guide, Daniela, was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable, shared a multitude of stories and anecdotes with us, and made the history of the Diocletian Palace very easy to digest. She started the tour in the Palace cellars, which are almost perfectly preserved to this day, allowing us to see what the palace looked like in 305 AD. It was a great way to begin this tour, allowing us to wait out the cruise crowds. We already have recommended this tour and Daniela to friends planning a trip to Split.

Incredible knowledgeable and with sense of humor - “Joe” gave a well thought out tour in which we were always engaged, including my 16yo son. So much historical context but also plenty of insights into current day Croatian life.
