Serving as a lobby to Diocletian’s residential quarters, its primary purpose to impress visitors is still achieved today, just as it was centuries ago. Due to its excellent acoustics, it is often used by various klapa, “a cappella” singing groups that preserve the Dalmatian style of singing, a tradition protected as world heritage by UNESCO.
