The day consists of 3 wonderful meals and unlimited great wines and liquors - all made by hand, locally - the provenance and derivation of the food and wine is enthusiastically explained by those who make it. A rare opportunity to sample local Zinfandel wine and visit a rural homestead to try out the traditional Dalmatian Peka. We also take in the city of Split, Klis fortress and the city of Trogir - fully guided tours.

Don’t hesitate to book this trip! - Unexpected excellence! This tour far exceeded our expectations. We knew we were in for a full day. But we didn’t realize the cultural experience it would be.
Jadran of Gecko Tours was our guide. Fantastic! He is knowledgeable, skilled, funny, and great!
Klis Fortress came alive for us with his excellent historical knowledge and interesting explanation of everything we saw. I must say he did a great job of bringing a bunch of stones on a hill to life!
In terms of food—wow! A great experience of tasting through the market. And the wine tasting was beyond-beyond! Ivan was amazing. Can’t be topped. The peka? A great cultural experience. Such a wonderful way to experience this Croatian dish.
I highly recommend this tour. We were three couples traveling together. Great for our group.

Gastronomical Adventure with a Heaping Serving of Local History - A truly memorable day! The food was delicious and included breakfast, lunch and dinner all with a distinct local flare. The wine tasting with the vintner was fabulous. He was both a wine expert and a humorist. The wines and food were plentiful, tasty and lovingly prepared. Having home made Peka at the end of the day was an enormous treat. All this and a super knowledgeable guide (Jadran) who made the whole day a delight. The visit to Klis was a highlight for learning about local history.

History, sites, food & Wine!! - What can we say!! Loved every bit of the experience. Insightful history of Split, bakery, cheese shop, chocolate shop to Klis Fortress to wonderful wine tasting to an amazing meal called Peka. What more can you ask for. Jadran was an amazing tour guide with so much knowledge & a great sense of humor. Hands down would recommend it.

Best Day Ever In Croatia - If you are in search of an impactful culturally enchanting experience, look no further. An entire day of food, fun and adventure. Tonci, my guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable from start to finish. The small group of four travelers I was with made the experience even more intimate. The entire day felt smooth and very flexible to be able to take in the scenery while relishing every moment. Cannot recommend this tour enough. So grateful to have experienced Croatia with much authenticity through this tour.

Stop shopping and just book - I have done two different day tours with Gecko and enjoyed both tremendously! (Gastro and Krka) The company is not your typical “here you are, walk over there and I will meet you later” kind of tour. They actually guide you with no pressure to hurry up. This tour is packed with information, thoughtful destinations, and a Croatian cultural feel through the difference people and experiences you will have. You will also see amazing countryside. Don’t hesitate another minute. Just book and relax knowing you will be taken care of.

Well worth the price! - The tour guide was friendly in a natural way. She seamlessly intertwined regular conversations with teaching about the history of the food.
The price of the food versus quality is really good so do not hesitate to book.
It was nice to eat at various restaurants where each had wine or an alcoholic beverage. Another reason why it was well worth the money.

True authentic local tour - Highly recommend for a real authentic experience. My husband and I are digital nomads and we have experienced a lot of different tours around Europe but this was an absolute highlight for us.
Spending the day with our guide Jadran was just like having a local friend take us out to all the best spots in Split, we felt like we got the very best local experience.
Jadran was super knowledgeable, we had such a great time!
We visited some amazing spots that you wouldn't get to experience on your own. We went to a fabulous family run winery and also had an incredible feast at a local home, it was very unique and something you can't experience in a restaurant.
It was a long day but it felt well timed and very relaxed, we also came home absolutely stuffed from all the wonderful food!
If you love food, wine, a taste of history and good company this is the perfect tour.
