Yogyakarta - Hotel in Borobudur Temple Area

Borobudur - The Borobudur temple tour begins at the airport or train station in Yogyakarta, where our staff will greet you. We will then drive approximately 1.5 hours to the Borobudur temple area. Upon arrival, you will stay overnight before embarking on the Borobudur sunrise tour the following morning.

Borobudur Sunrise Tour - Prambanan Temple Tour - Yogyakarta City Tour

Borobudur Temple - The best time to see Borobudur temple is at dawn when the air is fresh and filled with birdsong. As the mist lifts, the sun rises over the surrounding volcanoes and terraced fields, illuminating the stone reliefs and numerous Buddha statues. Witnessing Borobudur for the first time is often a profoundly emotional experience.

The Borobudur sunrise tour offers a unique experience, allowing participants early access to the monument at around 4:30 am, before the general public. Guests will walk from the hotel to Borobudur through a lush tropical garden in the pre-dawn light. The sunrise over Borobudur temple is a breathtaking sight, making for an unforgettable experience.

Prambanan Temples - At around 9:00 am, our staff will meet you at your hotel to begin the next tour, starting with a visit to Prambanan Temple. We will then have lunch at a local restaurant in Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta Palace - The tour continues with visits to the Sultan Palace, Water Castle, a silver accessories shop, and a batik shop. Afterward, we will drive you to your hotel in Yogyakarta for an overnight stay. Enjoy your free time at leisure.

Yogyakarta Train Station - Surabaya Gubeng Train Station - Hotel/Lodge in Mount Bromo area

Gubeng Railway Station - After breakfast at around 6:00 am or 10:30 am, our staff will pick you up and take you to Tugu Train Station. The train departs Yogyakarta at approximately 6:45 am or 11:30 am and arrives at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station around 10:45 am or 3:30 pm.

Mount Bromo - Upon arrival at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station, our staff will meet you and continue the journey to the Mount Bromo area, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. The trip takes about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival at Mount Bromo, you will have dinner and stay overnight at Lava View Lodge or a similar hotel.

Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour - Transfer to Banyuwangi Town (Ijen Crater area)

Mount Bromo - The Mount Bromo tour starts at around 3:30 am (earlier on weekends). A jeep will take you to the famous viewpoint on Penanjakan Hill, offering the best sunrise views in East Java with mountains and volcanoes as a backdrop. The jeep will then take you to the sea of sands in the Mount Bromo area. From the parking area, you can cross the sea of sands on horseback or on foot to reach the stairs leading to the peak of Mount Bromo. After enjoying the volcanic activity at the summit, return to your jeep, which will take you back to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, and packing.

Banyuwangi - We will then continue our trip to a hotel in the Ijen Crater area of Banyuwangi Town, a journey of about 5-6 hours. Along the way, we will pass through rural landscapes, small towns, rice fields, plantations, and beaches. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. We will arrive at your hotel in the Ijen Crater area in the late afternoon or early evening, where you will stay overnight before the Ijen Crater trek the next morning.

Ijen Crater Tour/Ijen Blue Fire Tour - Transfer to Bali area

Ijen Crater - The Ijen Crater tour begins at 5:00 am. Our car will take us to the village of Licin and then to the slope of Ijen Crater, passing through plantations and rainforest. This journey takes about an hour from the hotel. From the parking area, it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to hike to Ijen Crater. Along the path, you will enjoy stunning natural scenery, fresh air, and birdsong. At the peak of Ijen Crater, at an altitude of about 2385 meters above sea level, you will be amazed by the enchanting panorama, including the turquoise acid lake. The view from above the crater is picturesque.

OPTIONAL PROGRAM:

If the weather is favorable and you are in good condition, you can opt for the Ijen blue fire tour, which requires leaving the hotel or homestay around 1:00 am or midnight. Check online for pictures of the blue fire at Ijen Crater.

Bali - After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer you to the ferry harbor for an hour-long sail to Bali. Upon arrival, our Balinese driver will escort you to your hotel in Bali.

After Yogyakarta, we will invite you to try the executive class of our train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya (4 hours ride). From the window, you can see the rice fields, local villages, and also small towns after Yogyakarta. Surabaya is the capital of East Java, East java hosts the 2 best places to visit during the trip, Mount Bromo, and Ijen Crater.

• Important Information for all travellers who are going to book this trip: Every first Friday of the month, Mount Ijen is closed for one day. So, please make sure you check the date of your booking.
• Ijen Crater is now open as usual and safe to visit. However, due to natural conditions, the blue fire is temporarily not visible. Please remember to always follow safety guidelines during your visit.
• Important News from Borobudur Temple There will be no sunrise tour anymore on the top of the temple and no one is allowed to visit the top of the temple as well. From now on, we can only see the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE at the bottom of the temple and for sunrise, we will go to Setumbu Hill. 

Good news: There is a trial to climb up to the top floor but with special shoes and additional cost for it. it’s still not so sure when this trial stops or continues.
