- Orlando Towers - The guided tour will lead visitors through Diepkloof Extension, where there will be a stop to view and discuss the family units, a remarkable project initiated by the late President Mandela, aimed at providing decent homes for hostel residents. As the tour continues, it passes by Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the largest hospital in Southern Africa and the third largest in the world. The distinctive and colorful Orlando Towers attract many travelers who enjoy taking photos and learning from our knowledgeable tour guides. Originally cooling towers for a coal-powered station that supplied electricity to Johannesburg, the station was closed in 1998 and transformed into a sporting, entertainment, and business center in 2008. The towers are used by businesses for advertising, though the branding is not permanent.
- Hector Pieterson Memorial - The Hector Pieterson Memorial Museum honors the students who lost their lives fighting for their rights in 1976 under police brutality. The museum also illustrates the events of the 1976 student uprisings and the broader struggle for democracy in South Africa. Entrance is optional. Local vendors near the museum sell curios, beaded crafts, artifacts, and African clothing. Visitors are given time to explore the flea market if desired.
- Vilakazi Street - The vibrant Vilakazi Street is a popular attraction in Soweto for both locals and international visitors. The homes of two Nobel Prize winners, former President Mandela and Archbishop Emeritus Tutu, are located on this street. Sakhumzi Restaurant, also on this street near Tutu’s house, offers a delightful South African cuisine buffet lunch featuring dumplings, rice, mealie porridge (pap), samp, and sour sorghum porridge. Other delicious meals include beef stew, chicken, sausages (braai wors), vegetables, salads including the popular local salad chakalaka, and dessert. Lunch is optional; please inform your guide if you wish to have lunch.
- Mandela House - The tour includes a visit to the house of the world-renowned icon, the late President Mandela, located on Vilakazi Street. Entrance and a guided tour are included. Mandela lived in this house with his family before his imprisonment. The museum house offers an effective, efficient, and meaningful experience for all visitors, educating them about former President Nelson Mandela’s life in a way that promotes human rights, democracy, reconciliation, mutual respect, and tolerance among the people of South Africa and the international community.

Since the 1994 elections, Soweto has transformed into a vibrant, friendly, and diverse community. Visitors will notice that some areas still require development and poverty alleviation, while others have evolved into modern, affluent suburbs.
We provide the opportunity to tour the home of the esteemed statesman, the late President Mandela. Guests also have time to explore the flea market, which offers curios, artifacts, and African clothing. Additionally, there is an optional buffet lunch featuring South African cuisine.
