A Must-Do Tour - Highly recommend! You will feel the true pulse of Johannesburg and Soweto (a city within the city). My tour was led by Pastor. He was very knowledgeable, personable, transparent and open to questions. Johannesburg has a very high unemployment rate due to economic inequalities. Bring some cash (Rand) with you as there will be multiple opportunities to support entrepreneurial locals who will add value to your experience.

Cultural tour and best coffee tasting. - We had an incredible day exploring Johannesburg and Soweto with our guide, Pastor. His passion for his country was evident in every story he shared, and we learned so much about the rich history and culture of these vibrant places. Pastor’s extensive knowledge made our experience truly engaging. One highlight of the day was visiting a charming, hidden gem of a coffee house. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. It was the perfect spot to relax and reflect on all we had seen.

Can't really do this - The very personal one on one experience of learning about the culture and people of jBurg and about the trauma of apartheid and the long history of the region in general.

Wonderful tour!!! - Our tour of Johannesburg and Soweto with Pastor as our guide was an absolute highlight! Pastor brought the history and culture of these vibrant places to life with his deep knowledge and storytelling. From the rich history of Johannesburg to the powerful legacy of Soweto, every stop was both educational and engaging. We left with a much deeper appreciation for the region and its history. Highly recommend this tour!

A great overview of Johannesburg and Soweto - This was a very interesting and informative tour. K G was a wonderful tour guide who provided lots of history and background information to better understand what we were seeing. One of the most memorable parts of the tour was being able to visit a township home. In downtown Johannesburg she explained the exodus of many businesses from the cbd to a new location leaving over 600 vacant buildings and contributing to some current problems in the downtown area. We also saw the new trendy Maboneng St. Seeing Bishop Tutu’s home and seeing Nelson Mandela’s home was also memorable. I highly recommend this tour and tour company.

Informative and moving tour of Johannesburg and Soweto - Our tour guide KG was super informative and knowledgeable and we loved her sense of humor. We would highly recommend her and the Joburg/Soweto tour and if you have time include the Apartheid Museum.
