• The VI Cat - Departing nightly from the Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove Beach, tours are offered at 7pm, 8:30pm & 9:45pm. You MUST check-in on the beach 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. We cannot accommodate late arrivals. 

Tour is listed in Atlantic Standard Time (AST) and guests are to provide their own transportation to the Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove. After checking in with security, follow signs that say “public access to the beach”. Free parking can be found in a large gravel parking lot on the right hand side AFTER the security booth.

• Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove - Your adventure begins at the Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove beach where a brief kayaking instruction is provided and then you will get into your 2 person kayak. Enjoy your relaxing twilight paddle and keep a look out for a pirate ship in the vicinity. 

Not only will you kayak under the twinkling stars, but you’ll also experience the twinkling lights of historical Charlotte Amalie Harbour as a backdrop too!

• The VI Cat - • Only registered guests of the hotel are allowed to use the pool/beach chairs. Any Kayak passengers using these items may be asked to leave property and excursion tickets may be forfeited.

• Inform us if the maximum combined weight approaches 450lbs. per kayak, based on 2 guests per double-seated kayak.

Have you ever wanted to explore the underwater world AT NIGHT without actually going underwater? Well …. NOW is your chance!

What is LED Illuminated Kayak After Dark? It is exploring nature in a truly unique way. St. Thomas Water Sports’ very own kayaks are the “windows to the sea”, allowing the rider to experience the underwater sea life below the surface.

Your kayak, the ‘Caribe’ is half sit-on-top kayak, half-canoe. The crystal-clear hull of the Caribe provides a window to the underwater world. The kayaks are retrofitted with powerful LED lights, allowing you view the underwater nocturnal residents in their natural habitat.

• Must arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. Check-in with Kayak Guides on Beach of Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove. We cannot accommodate late-comers.
• Use Google Maps. Type “The VI Cat” or “Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove”. 1. Pull into the Marriott Frenchman’s Cove (the property with all of the colorful buildings). The Marriott Cove has a large stone/brick entrance. 2. Check in with the security guard at the security booth. They will ask that you park in the large, flat gravel parking lot on the right AFTER the security booth. 3. After parking, walk down the hill, on the road, towards the pool and follow signs that say public beach access. 4. You will check in with Kayak After Dark Guides on the beach approximately 30 minutes prior to departure.
• Kayak After Dark’s Standard Cancellation Policy: To receive a full refund, customers may cancel up to 24 hours before the excursion start date in the local timezone. No refunds will be given after that time period. “No-Shows” will be charged the full price of the excursion. In the event KAD cancels the excursion due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, customers may receive a full refund or rebooking. NOTE! If you miss your tour, a $25 rebooking fee will be added
• Note that the Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove is the time-share portion of the Marriott. This location is different than The Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef.
• Confirmation will be received at time of booking - please bring with you digitally or a printout
• Be sure to mention any allergies or medical conditions to your Guide
• Expectant mothers should consult with their primary care physician about participating in this excursion
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
• All tours are listed in local time - Atlantic Standard Time Zone
• Most travelers can participate
• Weight limit per Kayak is 450 lbs.
• This tour/activity will have a maximum of 18 travelers.
• Any guests with medical concerns (including pregnant travelers) are encouraged to address them with their own medical professional prior to attending excursion.
