Highly recommend the Private Monument Valley Tour with Don!! - Don was amazing!!! He shared his childhood experiences with us. He helped us get the best pictures of the monuments and other sites in the valley. He spoke the Navajo language to us and explained what he was saying. Told us how Navajos helped the US win WWII with the Code Talkers!! Explained to us the petroglyphs of the Navajo Indians!! Highly recommend the Private Monument Valley Tour!! You will not regret it!!

Grateful! - Unbelievably knowledgeable guide, Don! He is a Native American Elder that trains the other guides! He assisted in getting the Navajo language with some other experts into the Rosetta Stone software. Really honored to get to spend about 3 hours w him on a tour of monument valley!

Do not miss an oportunity to take a tour with this company!!! - Nor really a guided tour kind of person, but had a great time. Days later my sister, daughter and I are still finding ourselves chuckling about some of the stories our guide told us. Still highpoint of our week long tour of UT.
We did a private tour, so we got to ride inside the vehicle with our guide and ask as many questions as we had.
BEST tour any of us have done in years.

A private tour is worth the cost and the only way to see Monument Valley - A private tour is the best way to not only see Monument Valley, but to learn the history of the land and the people. Don is passionate about sharing his knowledge and is a gifted educator. I echo the thousands of reviews of praise for Don and this tour.

An Exceptional Guide and Rewarding Personal Experience - I am a geology professor from Kansas and have always been in awe of the spectacular outcrops of rocks in the southwest, including in Monument Valley, that reveal the geologic history of of our earth. I recently returned to Monument Valley to learn more about the geology and history of the area. I specifically chose a private trip with Don Mose because of his long history of growing up in the area and serving as a guide and educator. I can only echo the high praise previous review comments have given Don for his knowledge, insight, character, and graciousness. What is truly special is his ability to connect on a personal level. When he found out I was a geologist, he said he also wanted to learn about the rocks from my perspective. What transpired during the trip was a wonderful interaction and dialog. Don’s explanations and storytelling made everything come alive, and I walked away with a much deeper perspective of the interconnection between the rocks, land and culture. Quite simply, the time with Don was the highlight of my trip and I am honored that he shared his time and experience with me. I highly encourage anyone to take advantage of a trip with Don. You will come away enriched in some personal way.

Truly wonderful - Our guide, Don, made our tour a beautiful experience in every way. He shared stories and songs and took us to spiritual places in the back country of Monument Valley. I loved every moment. He even gave me lessons in taking photos. It was the most unforgettable experience of my life. Thank you, Don.

Thank you, Tony! - We did the 3 hour sunset tour with Tony. His knowledge and storytelling are truly amazing. We went into the tour a little unsure because of the kids, time length, and cost. We were completely blown away and grateful we booked this. Tony has a personal story about everything you will see to share from the Navajos. He has a beautiful gift of Navajo story telling. We learned so much - both adults and kids. He was good to share information that the entire group could appreciate. He also played a drum and sang a song that was his Grandmother’s favorite. It was special and beautiful. He is also a masterful photographer. The photos that he took or helped us to take are amazing and taught us new tricks. Don’t miss this amazing experience! It is well worth it.

Great Tour - Don Mose was the greatest guide, he brought Minument Valley to life! I have already recommended his tour to others. Don took the time to not just show us the valley, but to teach us amazing facts about the valley and the people who live there. 5 stars is not enough!

Excellent Time - We just took the Monument Valley tour with Don, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations. This was my second time touring the Valley, and while I expected to see new areas and learn more about Navajo culture, this experience was far more than just sightseeing.
Don has an incredible depth of knowledge about both the monuments and their cultural significance to the Navajo and other Indigenous tribes both past and present. His insights went beyond just the Western films shot in the Valley, making the tour far richer and more meaningful than I had anticipated.
I will absolutely be returning to Monument Valley, and when I do, another tour with Don will be a must.
For Those Interested in the Cultural Aspect
If you are still reading, I’ll share more details for those particularly interested in the cultural depth of this tour.
Before our trip, I had read parts of the Navajo creation story and was eager to hear more specific insights from Don. Reading is one thing, but having an interactive conversation with an expert is a whole new level of learning. I had asked the tour provider if it would be possible to incorporate more cultural and historical information, and Don truly delivered.
As a former educator in Navajo language and culture, Don built up the information gradually, layer by layer, throughout the tour. I walked away having learned far more than I had even hoped for.
My wife, who had not done any reading beforehand, commented that she wished we had recorded the entire tour. In fact, she said it was the highlight of our entire 10-day trip out West. If you want to get even more out of the experience, I highly recommend reading just a little bit beforehand will gain even deeper insights from the tour.
As I mentioned earlier, I will definitely be returning for another tour with Don.
