The Black Hills - Guests will be picked up directly from their hotel and taken to explore Mount Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, and the Crazy Horse Memorial.

Iron Mountain Road - A favorite among car and motorcycle enthusiasts, Iron Mountain Road offers breathtaking views at every turn as it winds up, over, and around the mountain.

Custer State Park - Iron Mountain Road leads into Custer State Park. Visitors will stop at the visitor center for an engaging movie and a break from the drive. Afterwards, the tour continues down Wildlife Loop Road on a buffalo safari, where bison, antelope, elk, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, and begging burros can be seen.

Needles Eye - Traveling up Needles Highway is awe-inspiring. As the elevation increases, so do the stunning views. The drive includes three tunnels, numerous viewpoints, and the famous Needles Eye Tunnel. Photos are a must on this extraordinary drive.

Sylvan Lake - Known as the most beautiful lake in the Hills, Sylvan Lake is a must-see. Featured in “National Treasure” and resembling another planet, it attracts visitors from all over. A walk around the lake offers a refreshing experience in the mountain air.

Crazy Horse Memorial - Celebrating one of the most renowned War Chiefs, Crazy Horse is a true Native American hero. Learn about Crazy Horse’s unique legacy on the way, and upon arrival, enjoy a video about the monument’s creator and the family behind it. A visit to the museum offers insights into the Lakota and their significance to the Black Hills.

Needles Highway - Needles Highway is a scenic section of South Dakota’s State Route 87 that meanders through the Black Hills. Created in 1922 by Governor Peter Norbeck, it allows visitors to view the “Cathedral Spires” of this previously inaccessible area. The drive offers stunning views of the Needles Eye Tunnel and other rock formations.

Devils Tower, Spearfish Canyon, and Deadwood

Spearfish - The tour stops in the town to visit the D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery before moving on to the next destination.

Deadwood - Welcome to the Wild West. The stop here includes time to witness a shootout reenactment, explore historical sites, and enjoy shopping.

Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway - Relax as the drive passes through thousand-foot cliffs that are millions of years old, surrounded by rolling streams and waterfalls. There will be stops along the way for photos and observations.

Devils Tower National Monument - Devils Tower is a remarkable geological formation in Wyoming, USA. Standing 867 feet tall, it dates back millions of years and is visible from miles away. The area holds spiritual significance for Native Americans and was declared the first National Monument in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt. Locally known as Mato Tipila or “Bear Lodge,” it is linked to several Native American creation stories.

Roughlock Falls State Nature Area - Roughlock Falls in Spearfish Canyon is a hidden gem of natural beauty. Nestled in the forest, the waterfall cascades over rugged cliffs into crystal-clear pools. With vibrant wildflowers in spring and fiery foliage in fall, it’s a photographer’s dream. The scenic trails leading to the falls offer an enchanting walk through lush greenery and dramatic canyon walls. A visit to Roughlock Falls promises a peaceful, awe-inspiring moment in one of the Black Hills’ most breathtaking spots.

Spearfish Falls - Spearfish Falls is a must-see in Spearfish Canyon! Surrounded by towering cliffs and lush forest, this stunning waterfall plunges into a serene pool. Aladdin General Store - The Aladdin General Store is a charming step back in time! Built in 1896, this quirky spot is filled with unique treasures, from old-fashioned candy to vintage collectibles. Visitors will love exploring its creaky wooden floors and rich history, all in the heart of tiny Aladdin, Wyoming.

Badlands National Park & Buffalo Gap National Grasslands

Wall Drug - A legendary attraction, Wall Drug offers something for everyone and is a must-stop in South Dakota. Lunch may be enjoyed here, and their famous donuts are a must-try.

Badlands National Park - One of South Dakota’s most unique places, the Badlands was a favorite of Frank Lloyd Wright, who called it nature’s architecture. Within its borders are bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, pronghorn, and an abundance of wildflowers. Both the Northern and Southern Units will be visited if time allows.

Buffalo Gap National Grassland - Buffalo Gap National Grassland is a unique and beautiful landscape in South Dakota. It features a variety of habitats, including native prairie, sandstone badlands, ponderosa pine forests, wetlands, creeks, streams, and rivers. Home to abundant wildlife like mule deer, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, hawks, and songbirds, it offers breathtaking views of the Black Hills. The grassland is also known for its diverse plant species and unique deposits of Fairburn Agates.

Scenic Ghost Town - The ghost town of Scenic, South Dakota, is rich with history and stories. Located in Badlands National Park, it began as a small community in the 1890s, founded by German immigrants. Over time, harsh conditions led to its decline, and by the 1970s, it was almost entirely abandoned. Today, it stands as a silent reminder of the past, with several buildings still standing, including the old schoolhouse built in 1910.

Ben Reifel Visitor Center - The Ben Reifel Visitor Center is the perfect introduction to Badlands National Park! It features fascinating exhibits on the area’s geology, wildlife, and history, with friendly rangers ready to share tips for exploring the park. It’s a great starting point on the tour to make the most of the Badlands adventure!

This tour covers the three major areas of the Black Hills and Badlands. You can put down the planning, and relax as we take you to the significant points of interest. At times, we may deviate from the itinerary for some surprise visits. We can spend more or less time at each location based on your interests.
