Your driver and guide will pick you up from your preferred residence or any hotel in Johannesburg and Pretoria, including Sandton, for a visit to the Cradle of Humankind and the Lion and Safari Park. Upon arrival at the Lion and Safari Park, you will embark on a safari vehicle to observe lions and other wildlife such as wild dogs and cheetahs. The Lion and Safari Park spans 600 hectares of wilderness located in the Hartebeespoort, Magaliesburg, and Cradle of Humankind area. This park provides guests with an amazing chance to encounter many of South Africa’s most iconic animals. The Lion and Safari Park offers a variety of thrilling activities for the entire family. Upon arrival at the Cradle of Humankind, you will be taken on a tour of the Sterkfontein Caves and then visit the Maropeng Visitor Center. The Cradle of Humankind covers approximately 47,000 hectares. Over three million years of human activity have occurred in and around these caves, including the earliest-known mastery of fire, and forty percent of the world’s human ancestor fossils have been discovered here. You can explore the area on your own with a custom-made tour. The largest and most famous of the caves is Sterkfontein, where over 500 hominid fossils and more than 9,000 stone tools have been found. It was at Sterkfontein that two significant discoveries were made, which have transformed modern paleontology: Mrs. Ples and Little Foot.
