Journeying along the shoreline, we make our way to the very southernmost point of the Attica peninsula, Cape Sounion. This retreat near Athens is renowned for its sandy beaches, seafood eateries, and the arresting wreckage of the Temple of Poseidon. Located on the edge of a cliff that towers over the Aegean Sea, this temple is part of a revered triad of ancient monuments, along with the Acropolis, and the Temple of Aphaea on the island of Aegina in Greece. When viewed on a clear day, these landmarks are perceptible from each other, keeping the same distance as the flight path of a crow. Sounion is also the site where the tragic story unfolds of Aegeus’ fall from the cliffs upon mistakenly believing his son to be dead, based on the sight of unaltered black sails. Consequently, the ‘Aegean Sea’ derived its name from him. Plus, it’s an exquisite spot to take in the sunset, with neatly-outline marble columns encapsulated by the celestial dome and the enchanting blue sea!

Panos Made Our Trip to Greece Unforgettable - From the moment Panos picked us up at the Athens airport, we knew we were in the best hands. Over the course of our trip, he drove us on four separate occasions — including a full-day journey out to Cape Sounion to visit Poseidon’s Temple and relax at a beach club. Not only was he punctual and professional, but he also waited on standby all day to make sure we were comfortable and cared for. That level of dedication is rare.
Panos speaks excellent English and is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people we’ve encountered in all our travels. He’s warm, personable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his beautiful country with others. On our final ride, he even surprised us with sweet gifts, a gesture that was completely unexpected and incredibly touching. I cried.
Having Panos as our driver felt like having a trusted friend by our side. He elevated our experience in Greece and gave us a sense of safety, connection, and joy that we’ll never forget. Excellent, worry free service - I used Catt taxi for airport transfers so decided to reach out about a ride to Poseidon’s temple last minute. He responded right away and gave me a full itinerary and said he’d pick me up in a few hours. It worked out perfect for my group! Terry ensured we had no worries and that all our expectations were exceeded. Catt is great for airport transfers as well!

Outstanding Athens Tours and Transfers - Terry and the Cattaxi team have been outstanding in all ways visitors look for. Prior to our arrival in Greece, he was very responsive to all our questions via email from the United States. Once in Athens he was always communicating with us within minutes on our phone texts for all our details for transfers and especially on our half day personal tour at the Cape of Sounion , Temple of Poseidon trip. During this trip we met our driver and guide - PANOS T (Greek spelling is Panagiotis P) a very personable, most friendly, multilingual well traveled host for 5 hours. Panos spoke English very well, drove perfectly and phenomenally safe. He always took his time not because it is his job but you can see the passion in his customer service and commitment. Ideally this tour is for sunset, and Panos made sure we had ample of time for that and more. He made sure we were never rushed and went above and beyond to make our time all that we had wished for and more until our return at the hotel. Overall, Terry, Panos and the team here are the golden standard for all your travel and tour needs in the area. The transportation vehicle was in perfect condition and handled very well for all terrains, and ensures comfort for everyone in addition to Panos driving expertise. When in Greece this will always be our go to for all transfers and any tours.

Absolutely recommend! - CATTaxi delivers. All drivers showed up promptly and very easy to communicate a plane change with the service and they adjusted pick up time. We used them four times. All the cars were clean and appeared like regular taxis. I am so glad we used them and took stress out of the equation in Athens.
The form to fill out request for service can be a little tricky. Reaching out to them on WhatsApp made it easy to confirm everything as needed.

Amazing - One of the most beautiful places on Earth. I want to return again and again and again. Could have stayed so much longer. I recommend going for a daytrip here and not as a short stop with a bus. It's a place that deserves that you spend some hours there.

CatTaxi - Terry at CatTaxi was OUTSTANDING. We found him on the Greece Travel Planning website. I communicated with CatTaxi via phone, text, and email, six months before our trip to Greece. The drivers, the van, the guide, etc., were perfect. There were 7 people in our party and we were very impressed by the professionalism and kindness of CatTaxi. HIGHLY recommend this company. We loved Cape Sounio, the Athens City Tour, and the tour of the Acropolis.

Don’t book anyone else - If you are in Athens and looking for an amazingly articulate, informed and entertaining tour please do not look any further. Terry was a fabulous raconteur, entertaining both myself and my 15yo daughter throughout our 5 hour tour around Athens and onto The Cape. He was thoughtful, engaged and willing to go the extra mile. I cannot recommend CAT highly enough.

Perfect end to our Athens trip - During our airport pickup, Terry suggested that we have this tour because this was the best spot in Athens to see the sunset. It was a bit far from the city center so it was super convenient to have our own taxi to travel there. It was such an unforgettable experience seeing how beautiful the sunset was while overlooking the beautiful scenery. It made me appreciate the beauty of Athens more and how rich their culture is.
Really recommend this company for their airport transfer and tours! Their drivers are very knowledgeable and give you so many insights into the history and culture of Athens. They are very helpful and provide excellent customer service as well.

Awesome experience - I had the great pleasure of meeting Dimitri who was my driver to Sounio Cape for the Sunset tour, He made the experience very memorable, a kind and smart and knowledgeable about Greece history and mythology. The drive was very nice overlooking the coast, and stopping whichever place I like for photos. I highly recommend a private tour with Cattaxi and if you are lucky you will get the awesome rider partner named Dimitri.

Amazing Experience - This was a great experience from end to end. We were picked up on time, in a very comfortable sedan. Our driver, Aristotle, was clearly very experienced. Our journey to and from the Cape was very enjoyable. Ari was knowledgeable, but did not dominate he conversation.
The Cape and Temple area are simply stunning and to be there at sunset was a truly memorable experience. As the sun set it provided a very surreal experience, made even better by the contrast of the sun setting behind one of the Islands and the golden rays kissing the columns of Poseidon.
After sunset Ari allowed us time to enjoy a leisurely drink, thereby avoiding the traffic headed back to Athens.
Not to be missed.
