Excellent tour with Antonia - We really enjoyed the places included in the tour — they were well worth visiting.
Our tour guide, Antonia was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We would definitely recommend her.

Hidden gem - Really good experience of the history of sorrento. Quite quick but worth a look as there aren't that many museums in sorrento.

A must visit whilst in Sorrento - This is a great compact and interactive museum with a guide provided for €13. It lasts approximately an hour.
If you are visiting for the day or here for longer you can fit this in easily. Very interesting and informative with interactive experience of volcanic eruption

Family museum visit - We all enjoyed the museum experience but felt a little rushed around each exhibit and it would have been good to get the opportunity to ask questions. The effort that has been put in to curating each story is clear and it was great to find out some stories/legends from the area. Give it a go if you like history and want to hear about the traditions and way of life from the past.

Something new about something old! - It’s not perfect and a small number of customer reviews are negative, but this is a relatively new exhibition charting Sorrento’s history and legend, using different media, using a previously disused space dating back to the 11th century. Themed audio visual tableaux are followed by an immersive ‘eruption of Vesuvio’ experience, then more traditional displays of local artefacts and images of famous visitors and personalities over the years. The whole is carefully thought out and well constructed, and is well worth an hour of your time and the modest entry fee.

An unusual experience - This was definitely an ‘experience’. It was so bad it was good. Pricey like but here’s the run down. You are led down a set of steps in the dark by a girl who has a torch so you don’t trip over yourself. She then proceeds to show you various video clips created by a mixture of stories of people throughout ‘s history with a large splash of artistic licence. These musings are then put through google translate and spoken with an AI generator. She will take you to a recreation of the town from years ago that is in need of a good dusting. The spiders of sorrento now inhabit the place. You will be led to a room that has a large projection of mount Vesuvius as the piste de resistance. Complete with strobe effects and dry ice. A recreation of the eruption of 79ad is played that resembles a bad CGI film from 1987. My boyfriend enjoyed it as something we can look aback on and laugh at. Don’t take it too seriously 😂

Everyday is a learning day at the Museo - Lasting 1 hr, this audio visual guided tour of the history of Sorrento was very interesting and provided excellent info on the many facets that make the Sorrento of today.
Situated in the original crypt of the Church, it is very atmospheric.
Good information on the many people who have visited, made their mark or been influenced by Sorrento.

Worth a visit - Very interesting and informative. Worth a visit. Information was clear and special effects impressive. Our children are adults. I don't think the exhibition would be interesting for under 10 years of age.

Each to there own - Well, I am lost for words but will try to find some. It's probably the worst 13€ x 2 I have spent. All you do is stand in front of a screen that gives you some info before you move to the next screen, then the next ......... I did not see the end screen or show of the eruption as when we got near the stairs, we made an exit. There are many good reports, so each to their own. We still laugh about it now, so we did get memories from the visit.
