Fascinating history frozen in time - Our group of five thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Our tour guide Andrea(s) was both personable and funny, and went out of his way to learn everyone’s name and incorporate us into the tour. This was the first, second and third visit for different members of our group, yet we all got something out of it and learned something new. This tour was the first of a two plus week trip spanning Sorrento, Sicily, and Malta and our group resoundingly said that Andrea(s) was our favorite guide for the entire trip. I’d highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic visits to Herculaneum/ Pompeii with mobility challenges addressed - Our daughter has mobility challenges and uses a wheelchair for longer distances. I reached out to a couple of tour companies and was absolutely thrilled that we went with Mondo Guides. Federica answered the phone initially and was completely fantastic, quickly sorting out where a driver could meet and drop us with pedestrian zones and multiple entrances etc. It all made me feel so confident before we arrived that the day would go well. She organized a driver, Tony, to pick us up at the hotel in Naples, take us (along with luggage and wheelchair) to Herculaneum to meet our guide, then to delicious lunch (arranged by Mondo), then to Pompeii (another guide), and finally on to our hotel in Sorrento. The day was absolutely amazing on all levels.
Tony the driver was professional, friendly, and went the extra mile throughout the day. For example, we talked about various pastries during lunch and then while we were with the guide at Pompeii, he went and bought us a beautiful selection to sample later! His car was super comfortable and easy with luggage and wheelchair. He called ahead to make sure the guides would meet us curbside, and even co ordinated with our Sorrento hotel for them to come and meet us a block away as they were in a pedestrian zone.
Federica was our guide in Herculaneum and Maria took us through Pompeii. They were both professional, friendly, highly knowledgeable, and very sensitive to our mobility needs – planning out an appropriate route before we even got there, and offering options and choices for to maximize the visit. Their English was excellent and they were a delight to spend time with - absolutely made our visits both easy and memorable. We learned many things, had all our questions answered, and saw so much detail. As an example of their personal touch, Maria had our daughter lean in to a fountain and place her arm where thousands of Roman citizens would have done, as there was an indent in the marble. Federica asked about hats, water, and stamina before we even began the tour, then she contacted Maria and co-ordinated the visits so we saw mostly private dwellings with her, and public sites with Maria. Both very thoughtful and incredibly well informed about the sites and area history.
I would A plus recommend this service and would absolutely use them again. A wonderful experience. Thank you so much Mondo Guides for putting together such a day. Penny H, Canada

A never to be forgotten experience of two treasures! - This was a truly magical trip that we'll remember forever. I took my 12 year old son and the whole day worked brilliantly, exactly to our requirements and beyond. Roberta was a fabulous guide and we learned so much. She was fantastic with my son and we thought both Herculaneum and Pompei were just wonderful. We were able to plan the day to suit the weather and our interests and we felt like we got some real insight into both the life and times of these Roman towns but also the work of the archaeologists. Andrea, our driver, was always in the right place at the right time and made the day really comfortable.

Excellent experience - We had a great driver take us from our hotel, keep our luggage and bags safe while we took a guided tour of Herculaneum, and then our driver picked us up again and he drove us to the train station. Wonderful and well organized experience.

Tours of Naples - We took two tours with the Mondo group. A four walking tour with Lucas. Our family learned so much about Naples on our walking tour, which made the city come to life. Lucas also gave us excellent suggestions for restaurants and shopping. Our second tour was a full day tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum with Manuela and our excellent and thoughtful driver Francesco. Manuela studies archaeology and is an expert in telling stories about these historical sites. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The Mondo group is very easy to work with and responds quickly to requests.

Superb experience with Mondo private day tour - I went to Naples with two friends and booked a tour with Mondo to see Herculaneum and Pompeii in one day. I asked for an archeologist to be our guide and a private driver for the day. Roberta M. was our guide and Alessio was our driver. They were beyond superb. Roberta worked on the digs as an archeology student. She brought history to life and described the buildings, their contents (we saw on site and in the Museo Nazionale) the inhabitants, and their activities in ways that we could relate to human nature as we see it today. She adapted the pace to our group, and was very expert in gently helping us navigate the irregular stones and steep curbs in both sites. She and Alessio had perfect coordination for our pickups and meetings at the sites. Alessio went beyond the call of duty when one of the group found she had left her prescription eyeglasses at the restaurant at Pompeii when we were already on the highway back to Naples. He turned around, went with her to the restaurant, and communicated with the staff until one of them found her glasses. And he helped me practice speaking Italian. Both of them made our visit unforgettable.

Incredible experience, from start to finish! Highly recommend! - We did the Capri Deluxe tour from Sorrento to Capri and back to Sorrento. Our guide was Patti, and she was incredible. There were four of us (two couples in our late twenties/early thirties) and she met all of our requests. From start to finish, Patti went above and beyond for us, showing us the entirety of Capri, by land and by sea, in just 8 hours.
The tour started with a complimentary pick-up from our hotel down to the ferry to meet Patti (note you have to request this!). Patti led us to our ferry and gave us our tickets. Once on Capri, Patti arranged for a Capri Cab (these cabs are so cute!) which brought us to Capri town. She showed us around while explaining the history, let us stop for gelato and shopping, and helped us find bathrooms. Then we took another Capri Cab to Anacapri, where she showed us around again, explaining the history and letting us shop. Then another cab to our lunch at Il Riccio. Il Riccio is on the pricier side (it's also above the Dior pop-up!), but the food was incredible, as was the view. Afterwards, Patti went ahead and reserved a spot for us in line for the Blue Grotto, and then even helped the Blue Grotto staff move the line along... incredible! Then our Blue Grotto boat took us to our private boat tour, where again, Patti did an amazing job of pointing out all the famous spots. Jumping in the water was a definite highlight. Then back to land, where Patti got us back to Sorrento via ferry. By the end, Patti felt like family. We loved her and felt like we really got to see Capri.
If you are looking for the perfect tour of Capri and not have to worry about how you get there, tickets, etc... this is the one for you! I highly recommend! Thank you Mondo Guide for arranging this tour for us!

Phenomenal experience!! - This was one of the best days of our lives! Serena out your guide was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable and made sure each part of our day was memorable and special. The boat ride beautiful and swimming in the caves was so fun. Truly, our wonderful tour guide made the day very special for our family.

Fun in the sun! - Our guide, Andrea, did an amazing job of navigating us around the crowds, arranging transportation, and making sure we saw the best of Capri in just one day. So glad we added on the boat tour, we skipped the Blue Grotto and were able to see the same beautiful effect in other caves on the island and fantastic views of the Amalfi coast with a refreshing dip to cool off after a long day in the sun.
