- Pompeii Archaeological Park - Experience a 2-hour tour of Pompeii and learn about life before the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Follow the guide to explore key highlights such as the Basilica, the Forum, the thermal baths, the bakery, and some residential houses.
- Basilica - The Basilica, covering 1,500 square meters, was the most magnificent building in the Forum, used for business transactions and the administration of justice.
- Foro di Pompei - The Civil Forum was the center of daily life in the city, serving as the hub for public buildings related to city administration, justice, business, trade activities like markets, and main places of citizen worship.
- Santuario di Apollo - The Sanctuary of Apollo is one of Pompeii’s oldest worship sites, strategically located along the path to Marina Gate, leading to the city’s public heart. The founding cult of the settlement, it reflects the Greek and Etruscan presence in the Campania region.
- Temple of Giove - Excavations - The Temple of Jupiter dominates the north side of the Forum, with Mount Vesuvius rising dramatically behind. When the colony was established (80 BC), the temple underwent significant renovation, becoming a true Capitolium with three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, resembling those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base for visibility to Forum visitors.
- Macellum - The Macellum features a tuff quadriporticus with an elevated worship hall on the eastern side, aligned with the entrance. Copies of two marble statues, a female and a male armed figure, are found in the side wall niches, along with a fragment of a larger statue, likely an emperor, Titus or Vespasian, indicating the area’s dedication to the imperial cult.
- Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) - The main entrance on Via dell’Abbondanza leads to a large courtyard. The pool is on the left, while a colonnade on the right leads to the men’s quarters, divided into the apodyterium (dressing room), frigidarium (cold baths), tepidarium (medium temperature baths), and calidarium (hot baths).
Heating was provided by a piping system in the walls and double floors circulating hot air from furnaces and mobile braziers. The women’s quarters, adjacent to the men’s, were similarly divided into the apodyterium, tepidarium, and calidarium.
The Stabian baths are among the oldest known in the Roman world.
- Lupanar - The brothel’s prostitutes were primarily Greek and Oriental slaves, charging between two and eight Asses (a glass of wine cost one Ass) for their services.
Small paintings with erotic scenes on the central corridor walls informed customers of the activities within the Lupanar. The brothel’s name derives from “lupa,” a Latin word meaning ‘prostitute.’
- Teatro Grande - The Large Theatre was constructed by utilizing the natural slope of the hill for the auditorium. It hosted comedies and tragedies of Greek-Roman tradition.
- Pompeii Archaeological Park - After the walking tour, enjoy free time for lunch.
- Vesuvius National Park - Drive up to Mt. Vesuvius to explore one of the world’s most famous volcanoes, taking in the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples. Starting from the square at 1000 m A.S.L., continue walking along the “The Gran Cone” path leading to the crater for a unique experience.
