Fantastic day out! Thanks Tony! - We had an absolutely brilliant time on this tour. Tony, our guide, was wonderful - he was very polite, friendly and took care to make sure all the guests enjoyed themselves. The tour covers an approx 2.5 hour visit to Pompeii. Tony made sure to point out a number of highlights and carefully explained their history - we really learned a lot. From there we headed to a local restaurant for a hearty and tasty lunch, before making our way to Vesuvius. Jean-Paul’s driving along the twisty inclining roads was exemplary and we got breathtaking views across the Bay of Naples. The climb to the summit was reasonably challenging - a tip: bring appropriate footwear as the sandy path can be quite slippy, particularly on the descent. All in all a wonderful trip which will live long in the memory!

Pics don’t do the sights justice - From start to finish this was one of the best tours I’ve had, not sure if I have put this in the correct place but we booked ours through Tui and I must say they played on the best day, we got updated messages regrading what time we will be picked up and where we will be picked up from so there was no confusion, we started off with Pompeii the guided tour gave us a detailed walk and showed us all the main sights of pompeii and any questions anyone had they was very happy to tell us, just a shame it was cold and raining, it didn’t spoil the day as a bit later as we was heading towards mount Vesuvius the clouds disappeared and when we go to the top of the mountain the views was out of this world, the pictures I took does not do it justice, When you go up the mountain there is a guy who lets you rent a hiking pole, to help you up as some of it is a bit gravely and steep it will take around half hour/ 45 mins to get to the top from where they drop you off, They also laid on a meal and drinks for everyone on the tour at a restaraunt called Kona as it was included in the price, it was a well deserved break in between Pompeii and Vesuvius then after Vesuvius on the way back down the coach stopped off at a shop where they let us try so locally made lemonchello They dropped us off back at the hotel which was a touch, 👍

One of the Highlights of our trip to Naples - even my 14 year old son loved it! - Hiking Mt. Vesuvius and then touring Pompeii was one of the highlights of my 10 day trip to Italy with my 14 year old son. Our guide for Vesuvius was Mario - he was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Depending on your physical shape, I'm not sure I would call it a hike. It's more of a long walk up a hill, but the views were breathtaking and it was amazing to think about the power behind the volcano. Our guide for Pompeii was also fantastic (I can't remember her name now) - she is an actual working archeologist and had so much insight into what went on in Pompeii it really provided great context. The only down side of the Pompeii trip is that 2 hours is not nearly enough to see everything. Luckily for us, that was the second half of our tour that day so we were able to spend more time on our own. I would suggest they always do it that way to allow people the time to explore (as opposed to doing Pompeii first and then Vesuvius which was what was originally scheduled).

Excellent tour in all aspects - the guide Roberta and all the arrangements going like a watch. - Guided informed tour of Pompeii which made the visit in very warm weather manageable and also the limoncello at the summit of Vesuvius.

A nice, hassle free way to see the sights. - This is a nice, hassle free way to experience your time in Pompeii and a climb to the caldera at Mt. Vesuvius. We had taken a previous day trip to another site all while trying to navigate the train, tickets, etc. and found this far more relaxing and less stressful. The tour guides were well informed and highlighted the most interesting areas to see. The lunch was good, not great. The bus driver was excellent as it's not easy to drive these roads with all of the turns and twists. I would recommend some hiking poles for the trek up to the caldera at Mt. Vesuvius as the small scree can easier slide under your feet. Overall I would recommend this tour.

Lunch appears to not be an option if you want to feel welcomed - The trip to Pompeii was the best part of this tour, especially given we were rained out from walking up to the crater of Mt. Vesuvius. We realize this was out of the control of our guides, but it was disappointing. However- I was extremely unhappy in how we were treated regarding the lunch break. When booking this tour- there was the option to purchase with or without lunch. Later I confirmed we could bring our own lunch. When we stopped for lunch, it was not in an area where other food options were available but at a specific restaurant known to the tour guide. Those few who did not purchase lunch were relegated to an outside area- but since it had been raining and the furniture was soaked - we asked to sit inside. We not only received a cool reception from the owner but were basically forced to buy something (we chose a drink each). If lunch at this establishment was required, the tour should not have made lunch optional to buy. We were made to feel unwelcome and this put a damper on our overall tour experience.

No lunch included means no lunch. No alternative. - 1. We didn’t get picked up from our motel. Some people were confused about drop off as it wasn’t in the same place as pick up. 2. We were given an option of including lunch in our ticket. We chose not to as I have a medical condition where I can’t eat many types of food and didn’t want to spend 19 euro and then couldn’t eat the food. I asked twice for a cup of coffee and waiters were too busy serving. BUT if you chose the no lunch option you basically had no lunch. Many people were talked into buying lunch as they took us out of town to a restaurant with nothing else around. One lady was a diabetic and had no choice. It was the same for half the bus. 3. They gave us no time to buy a souvenir at Pompeii and I'm sure that was because they didn’t want you buying food and therefore wouldn’t eat at the restaurant. 4. The area of Pompeii that the guide showed us was not a good choice as there were other areas which were more interesting: I’ve been there before. 5. Mt Vesuvius was fine but Fabiana the guide, acknowledged that she had not given us time for souvenirs at Pompeii and told us to buy them here. They were rubbish. 6. Fabiana the guide had zero care factor for us. Didn’t even ask if we were ok and didn’t try to get us food even though she yelled out a couple of times that we all must be hungry. 7. If you give an option, you cannot take that away because you want to make money. An alternative must be given otherwise don’t sell the ticket. All that was needed was a note with bring your own lunch or give us time to buy it at Pompeii.
