Songdo Central Park - It is the first park in Korea where seawater flows. In the park, seawater is purified in real-time to draw in seawater of grade 1 quality.
This vast amount of seawater flows into a canal in the center of the park, ranging from 30m to 100m in width, flowing through Central Park, with a freshwater volume of up to 90,000 tons and a canal length of 1.8km, making it a size that wouldn’t be awkward to call a river.
Located 4km from Central Park is a seawater treatment plant where seawater is taken, filtered, and purified through a three-stage process including UV disinfection before supplying it to the park canal.
Thanks to this, the water quality of this seawater is always maintained at grade 1. Various sea creatures such as trout, flounder, crabs, and loach live in this seawater.
