100/100 would recommend. - The monastery was incredible and the pancakes (mekitsa) delicious! And then the 7 lakes hike was just so incredible. The views were breathtaking. Vincent was a super guide.

A must if you are in Sofia !! - It was really a wonderful day from Boyana Church to the 7 lakes you really learned and experienced a lot. The hike was really nice. I can recommend this trip to anyone who feels like doing something and seeing something!! the trip guide was really very nice and attentive has answered all questions and told everything very well. For all the plans to make this trip in the future, definitely take sunscreen and reasonable shoes for the hike!

Everything we expected and more - We were really looking forward to our trip to the Rila monastery and the lakes, and it did not disappoint. The monastery is a real gem. We had enough time to explore the place and admire all it’s beauty. At the lakes we had to wait a little to take the lift up because of thunder in te mountains, but luckily we could go up and start our hike. The place was breathtaking. The hike was overall very doable when you’re prepared (wear good shoes). Because it started to rain and thunder again, we couldn’t take the lift back and had to hike down. It only added an extra special layer to our adventure in the mountains. We didn’t mind. Our tour guide Apostolos was very friendly and helpful throughout the day. He waited paintently for us to return from the hike. You’re in good hands if you travel with him!

Great full day trip. - It was beautiful, both places. But please do your research on weather. We picked perfect day and had perfect time. Tour people cannot control that. Bus was comfortable, driver did great navigating mountain roads. Hike at 7 lakes was amazing, but little muddy as there is still snow. Tour guide was willing to help everyone navigate even with different languages.

Beautiful. - We chose the option without a guide which in my opinion is fine for the monastery, while for the lakes it is a bit uncomfortable because there are no signs of any kind, so let's say that turning alone in the mountains to find the lakes takes three times as long. Anyway a beautiful experience, beautiful place.

Optical wonder but little time - It is a very complete Tour but with little time. In the Monastery of Rila you can only stay 45min and there is no time to visit the cave.
The excursion to the 7 lakes is wonderful but there are important things to highlight, the first is that you do not get on "elevator" but open chairlift. Important for those with vertigo because they are 20 minutes. It is supposed to be possible to visit up to 5 lakes in 2h but if you want to see the landscape... impossible. Either you go hiking without taking your eyes off the ground or you don't even reach 3. It is not an easy route and you have to go Very well equipped mountain (the track is rocky, with a lot of mud and quite uneven). It's beautiful but they'd have to give more notice of the departure characteristics. We only have 3h and it is very fair to do the lakes, see landscape, eat ...
Recommendation: Rila Monastery one day only and 7 lakes another whole. They deserve it because of the distance and the scenery.
